Good evening race fans, and welcome to Upper New York. It is a brisk spring day with a few snow flurries in the area. Temperatures will be in the high 30’s. One of the feature races will be The Dayton Storm Memorial has a short field of 6, three year old fillies and mares going six furlongs on a good dirt track. They will run for a $60,000 purse. Kirby is a impressive little filly by QUINTON’S GOLD for the jonesz connection. She has 10 career starts, in the money 8 of those and went to the winners circle 4 times. Her last outing was a stakes win in the Wingo Slew Memorial with a nice speed of 80 pulling away by 1 ½ lengths in a short field of 4. She is returning back to a slight off track, where she puts up here best numbers. At 6/1 odds, she is the long shot of the field.

Hill Valley attempts her second start in stakes company for trainer Hornets07. A SLEW CITY SLEW filly that is returning to a sprint after going longer for several races. She does have a good late kick in the shorter distances. She has 6 career starts with 3 of those coming in as wins. Last race she went a tiring 9 furlongs and was beaten by 7 ¼ in the A.P. Reef Special. She is back at her favorite distance. This will be the first test on a slight off track. She is getting some respect with the 9/2 odds.

Wildandcrazy is coming of putting up a blistery 92 SP#. This SILVER GHOST filly is appearing in her 6th stakes event for owner Oaklawn88. She has one career stakes win already and is coming off a 2nd place allowance run. She has great closing speed, but this is a little shorter distance than she has been running. She will need to start closing sooner in this 6 furlong event. She has the top jockey aboard that could help accomplish this change.

Super is a GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) filly that had a rough last outing going 8 furlongs for the 1st time. Going two races back, she put up back to back stakes victories for trainer Super17. Hopefully it was just a bad step for her last outing and will bounce back to her stakes winning form. She has the number 3 ranked jockey aboard to try to guide her to the winners circle. You can possibly make some money on her at a 4/1 price.

New Found Pegasus is a NEWFOUNDLAND x FUSAICHI PEGASUS combination. She has 2 stakes victories for owner Calipso, and is looking to add to that. She has been going longer distances as of late and is returning to the sprint division. She has the only early speed in the field and if she can shake loose, could go wire to wire. She has the #2 ranked jockey on board and is ready to test the GOOD track.

Big Red is the veteran of the field with 15 starts. Produced by RED BULLET she has been in the money 9 of 15 and is coming off her best race so far. She finished 2nd last out in the American Cat Stakes putting up a whooping 95 SP# where she tried to wire the field. She shortens the track by 1 furlong and runs on a good off track while being 2 for 2 on off tracks.
Race prediction:
If Big Red Cat is trained to bust out of the gate and takes off, I can see her going wire to wire. I see Wildandcrazy Ghost closing, but not in time to catch the leader. With NEW FOUND PEGASUS(KY) fading into 3rd position for the show prize.
