The Elite Racing Club’s monthly stakes schedule stops over in British-Columbia,  Canada this Saturday for the running of the Frac Daddy at Hastings racecourse in Vancouver.  Contested at 7.5 furlongs (or ~1500 meters for the metrically inclined) on the projected to be firm turf oval,  a compact field of five freshman runners,  including two fillies facing the boys, will square off for the winner’s share of the $100,000 purse and to bask in the spot light of the trophy presentation ceremony.  The victorious owner/trainer will also earn the lion’s share of the club’s stakes bonus points that will decide a club champion at the end of the year.
.
Mightyforego saddles the morning line favorite,  who is one of the upstart fillies – the other is from the ever present gryphon barn.  Harrylan,  as usual,  has a solid contender with his colt the 2nd choice of the handicapper.  Dontbetonme sends out the only stakes placed runner of the lot,  while club honcho jbcri09 steps up a recent claimer.
.
Let’s take a closer look at them in post position order and see what the figures reveal.

    BLUESKYSINMUNCIE               IN     2F     gryphon18         C Gentry         9/1
.
Going to draw a line through poor showing last out as it came off a ten DAY rest returning to the weeds.  One before that,  bay filly was a nice 2nd in a hot race allowance at 6.5 furlongs on dirt,  nailing a 71 SP# chasing the leader.  Blueskiesnrainbows beauty,  out of the stakes placed sim mare West N Hawk (by Forty Niner) was 3rd one before that in a NW1x allowance at 5.5 furlongs,  notching a 64 SP# behind the pace setter.  $15,000 claim from the gryphon18 barn should be fitter today,  could surprise for a minor share from inside post.

    BARB  N  JUAN                                AUS     2M     aam             F Feller             5/2
.
Owner/trainer aam (dontbetinme) saddles this Barbajuan buster,  out of the sim mare Luck Streak (by More Than Ready),  after just missing in the Slurpee Again listed stakes at three-quarters of a mile,  sizzling an 81 SP# from just off the pace in his first stakes try.  Bay colt wired a NW1x allowance at 5 panels in his previous start,  smacking a 74 SP#.  In  his prior outing he led them all the way,  breaking his maiden at 5.5 furlongs,  nabbing a 76 SP#.  Seems to have found a home on the greensward;  main speed here may get loose on the lead and prove tough to run down.

.
Scratch bred Tale Of Ekati tomboy (by Wild Again) tries the boys after getting 2nd in a NW3L allowance at this route on the poly track,  grabbing an 84 SP# in an off the pace run.  Brown filly won a NW2L allowance at 7 furlongs in her only turf try one before that,  garnering a 78 SP# from just off the leaders.  She broke her maiden one back of that in a local bred affair at 6.5 panels on the dirt,  gaining a 77 SP#.  Mightyforego20 protege has never missed the exacta,  handicapper likes her chances as the 7/5 morning line fave.

FASTNET  BEST                              AUS     2M     bulldog             H McCarthy         2/1
.
Second choice of the handicapper is this bay colt who exits a stretch running 2nd in a NW2L allowance at this distance,  smashing an 85 SP# from well back in the pack.  Fastnet Rock fella,  out of the sim mare Kings Lass (by King’s Best) flew home from last of thirteen to get the money one before that in an open maiden at 7 panels,  slashing to a 79 SP#.  He may have not cared for the off turf in his debut when 5th at 6.5 furlongs with a 68 SP#.  Runner from the bulldog barn (harrylan) should be gaining in the lane,  serious stretch threat.

    ACCLAMATION  MAKER          CA     2M     jbcri65             J Dawg             6/1
.
Acclamation ace,  out of the sim mare Empire Of The West (by Empire Maker) was a good 2nd in latest in a $125,000 claimer at 7 furlongs,  busting a 75 SP# in a mid pack trip.  Bay colt broke his maiden in the same condition at 6.5 panels one back of that,  banking a 67 SP# with a similar run.  In his prior try,  he was a fair 4th in an open maiden at 5.5 furlongs,  bagging a 68 SP# showing some late foot.  Jbcri65 trainee should be coming on late,  could get there on top try.

Good luck everybody and may they all come home,  fast,  safe and sound.
