G3 I Messed Up Stakes

Well what can I say but, I hope you all took notice and got on board this week as my box trifecta and straight out bets could have earnt you all a pretty penny.

My suggested bets were:

Box trifecta – Barb’s Return, Magical Mia, Getaloadofthis are my top three chances and I will add Laphroaig and Otto Platinum as I think they are genuine chances.

Also will be having some each way on Otto Platinum as she is great value.

Laphroaig jumped to the lead as expected from an inside draw, and was constantly stalked by Otto Platinum with Barb’s Return and Magical Mia following closely. Getaloadofthis was behind them as my top five picks all looked in prominent positions for most of the run.

Otto Platinum ran a fantastic race and after stalking Laphroaig for the best part of the race, strode clear after moving past her around the half way mark. She is now ranked 10th in turf long route closing on Mockingbird – 8th, Barb’s Return – 7th, Magical Mia – 6th, and Getaloadofthis – 4th. Otto Platinum paid $33.90 the win and after winning an allowance then a listed and now a graded stakes, she looks set to continue her dominance and could win many more races to come as this was only her 15th start. I am tipping that she has so much more in front of her and will win a G1 very soon and do the mighty Mineshaft proud.

At $5.10 for 2nd, Magical Mia was gallant in defeat and although failing to make it eight wins in a row, she was the only horse to provide competition and fire a shot at the winner. She made ground very gradually and finished one length behind. This 5yo brown mare is one race shy of one million dollars and looks a great breeding prospect with strong blood lines. Exacta $156.80.

4yo mare Laphroaig did a great job of setting the pace early but this move by jockey T Crow may have brought about her downfall as she faded severely in the stretch and was beaten just over ten lengths into 3rd. She is lightly raced and should have a solid career in front of her and is now grade placed improving her turf long route rank to 64. She paid $6.50 for 3rd and boosted the trifecta payout to $1,548.
