Punters beware

At last Sunday evening, peace and quiet. Time to check on my Previews, this week I wrote four of them. China, Newmarket, Spain and Sweden.
SO, I call up my notes and type in the relevant numbers in Coker’s viewer and off we go to the races…

First up China… and there off…
I looked and looked away and I looked again still the same picture, the favourite I wrote up as THE favourite was going backwards and quite quickly too…hmm not good. I was getting this sinking feeling I jinxed the horse, I know, i know it’s only a chip with bits on, but still …you all know what I mean.
Well any way race number 2 Spain.
They’re under starter’s orders and there off… same picture here, my highly toted favourite was going backwards too.
“Ok “ I start mumbling to my self,” it’s a long race… let that one in front tyre herself out ,,she will keep up…”
It was getting a bit boring just seeing that horse alone on the screen. 2furlongs, 4 furlongs …same lonely horse galloping on and on and on and on…(you get the picture.) anyway slowly but sure my favourite was making up ground. Good maybe she ‘ll wing it.
Checking my notes, my tips are 1-4-3-2. Looking good. In a nutshell they came home 1-4-3-2.And I put no money on the race. Oh well win some lose some.
Next port of call is Newmarket. The same procedure as last time.
This time though my favourite wire to wire it was just wonderfull. Moreover, before you ask no I didn’t put money on that one either.
Three down one to go. Off to Sweden. I won’t bore you with the details; my favourite won and I still didn’t put a bet on.
Now you are wondering why I am telling you all this. Well I had a 37/1 long shot in one of my stables. Which According to Yoss’s tip sheet, was going to win.
Therefore, I pondered what to do with my knowledge.
Yes you guessed it …I maxed out all my betting accounts to bet on my longshot, only fleetingly thinking about, if I was right with my write ups, even if its just one of them, maybe I could make some “money”.
No I believe in my long shot.
She didn’t even get a look in. hmmpf…
Leading quite a bit of the way, she suddenly stopped and watched the field go by… 10th out of 14.

Now you’re thinking so what, well the morale in this little collection of letters and words is…. Next time I will not bet all my money on a longshot, not if I have a dead cert on hand.
