1 | SECOND TIME LUCKY | 9/1 | Scratch-bred by Mountain Cat. This event sets up perfect for her off the pace style. However, this gal is still eligible for conditions and her SP’s don’t show the effort she will need to be in the top three. She will need a brutal speed duel to develop to be close at the end.
2 | TALL ORDER | 3/1 |
A versatile mare bred out of a “H” rated mare. Has done very well considering her non regal breeding. She has 13 ITM finishes out of 19 starts because of her trainer’s excellent placing. She is a stalker by nature and will need that strategy to be in the running. Even though I don’t feel she will win this, she’s definitely an overachiever.
3 | MAMBOMAMBOMAMBO | 3/1 |
Scratch-bred Kingmambo mare (who woulda thought…lol) that has cashed checks in her last zillion races. She’s a very serious contender here and always seems to give her best. Cutting back a touch in distance, this race is hers if she wants it bad enough. Even though jock is on the Steward’s watch list for using drugs, he should get the most out of her.
4 | URKO’S HOOLIGAN | 9/2 |
Out of a “D” rated he/she mare who earned more on dirt then turf and couldn’t route. Just goes to show that in breeding nothing’s for sure. This filly loves the front end and should fire out of the gate. She has a couple of close calls, but has yet to take a stakes event. Will she graduate here?
5 | MAGICAL MIA( | 2/1 |
The favorite in this event has excellent blood, even though her momma was a “H” rated mare. This filly has a G3 win in her resume’ and is on a 3 race winning streak. Going for 4 in a row, she is definitely on a roll. Ross in the irons gives her even more status as the one to beat. She’s rated 10th in long on turf, and always seems to be there in her class. I expect her to move on the turn for home and put these away.
6 | GRASSY SMELTZER | 9/2 |
Young gun in the field. This 3yo is taking on older for the 1st time, but has the credentials to be very tough here. Out of a “G” rated mare that liked dirt sprinting, she is the opposite. She should be mature enough to give the older gals a run for their money in the stretch. Who knows, she may just leave them wondering, what went by? Ironside usually doesn’t disappoint with a nice horse. |
