Did They Walk the Walk?
8/14/2205 Grade III Trixy’s Delight Special-Review
All week long the buzz on the backside leading up to the Grade III Trixy’s Special was about the super stables horse, Rhibus, out of the gradetwo stable. Rhibus was clearly the one to beat this week and he offered bettor’s a juicy price at 5-1.
All the horse’s comfortably settled into the gate, and then they were off. Haunted Hurricane(IRE) broke alertly from the gate, and was followed closely by Love You Most and Indycisive. Third Time Lucky(NZ) and Rhibus settled just off the trio of speedsters, with Fortynine Reasons settling in the back.
Haunted Hurricane(IRE) led the field all the way down the backstretch, with Love You Most and Indycisive in close pursuit. Meanwhile Vicki Gardner remained sitting chilly on Rhibus 3 ¾ lengths back in 5th.
As they hit the top of the stretch, Vicki Gardner asked Rhibus, and he responded with ease to pull even, then she tapped him one time with the whip and he was gone leaving the others in his wake. Third Time Lucky(NZ) raced evenly down the stretch for 2nd, with Fortynine Reason making a belated rally for 3rd.
Rhibus stopped the clock in
Rhibus is now a perfect 4 or 4 in his career with two Grade III victory’s and earnings off $204,000. Rhibus is now the #1 Ranked 2 year old Classic Division Horse.
Rhibus will likely make his next start in the Grade I GSR Diamond as his final prep for the BB Juvenile.
