Ten runners for todays marathon stakes race over 14f on th eturf course. At lreast half the filed look to be in with a real shout too.
ROCK RIVER QUEST (RAINBOW QUEST x BUSTINO(GB) x L’ENJOLEUR)
A bit of a mixed bag in stakes this year, only finishing within 5 lengths of the winner twice. Look to be allowance class and i can’t see a win here.
PJ BOLD JESSIE(IRE) (DANEHILL DANCER (IRE) x KRIS(GB) x SHAMGO)
Been runningh in allowances and not been winning them so why should she win here? Has a milers pedigree and why she has been campaigned at 12f plus is beyond me. Dropped back to 8f in allowance company she could be decent, but not today.
GOOFY (ALYSHEBA x KRIS S. x UNBRIDLED)
Has two recent stakes wins at 14f but doesn’t look to have a marathoners pedigree. Some of her runs have seen her up to 9 lengths clear at around the 9-10f mark and she may be better at that trip. Has to be considered with those two wins but i’m not sure about the win.
SALFLY’S SPUR(AUS) (FLYING SPUR(AUS) x STORM CAT x FULL OUT)
Another with a stakes win at this trip, she has better sp’s than GOOFY but has also been further ahead at the 10f mark than the finish in some races. Again must be considered today.
WHAT A STRIKE (AWESOME AGAIN x STRIKE THE GOLD x DANZIG)
Has been running well in long distance allowances but has only a claimer win recently. Shouldn’t be good enough to win a stakes but this is a muddling race so maybe?
ZINC SPINNING (SPINNING WORLD x DOM PASQUINI(FR) x NIJINSKY II)
Has won over 11f and 12f in allowances this year but the last win was by over 6 lengths and she was gong away at the end. Should handle the step up in trip and with no monsters in this field could get the win.
ELALYSIAN (SAKHEE x ELA-MANA-MOU(IRE) x NOHOLME II(AUS))
Hasn’t even reached a 90 sp figure this year in mostly allowance races and simply can’t be considered even in a below par stakes race.
WONDERFUL THING(IRE) (GRAND LODGE (IRE) x EL PRADO(IRE) x BUCKFINDER)
Won over 12f latest going away but that only produced an 83 sp in an allowance and that shouldn’t be good enough to win a stakes. May get a place at best.
SINN’S SWORD(IRE) (SINNDAR (IRE) x SWORD DANCE(IRE) x KRIS(GB))
Last three runs on dirt and looked better over 13f than her 8f and 10f runs. Ran well on turf previously and must be a big danger today. Expect a top three place at least.
SODBUSTER (SADLER’S WELLS x DANEHILL x DARSHAAN(ENG))
Wonderful turf marathon pedigree but has looked better at 9-10f, except for her 12f win latest in an allowance. She has won over 13f too but at this grade it might just be too far. Should still run a decent race and can place today.
Not the best stakes race on view today and i expect ZINC SPINNING to get the win, followed home by SINN’S SWORD and SODBUSTER.
