Part Exchange Calls, “Timber….”

The Grade III Timber Stakes went to favorite Part Exchange, who captured her first graded victory and ran her stakes record to three wins in three starts, her route record to four wins in four starts.  The Foxon5 trained filly’s only loss in her last five starts came in an unrestricted sprint against colts.

Part Exchange improved her division ranking to 36th, as she ran a race that would have put her in contention in a certain grade I race not far to the southeast of the Pennsylvania track.

The Dixieland Band filly did receive a favorable pace scenario as early speedster Muscle Shoals could not shake longshot Idontbloodyknow until the three eighths pole.  The latter filly eventually faded to a seventh place finish, while the former was able to hang on to third, holding off Mahe, the second choice among the bettors.

Showing nice improvement from her seven week layoff, the Supers’ Ran Away was closing fast at the end to finish within a half length of the winner and pick up the place.

The top two fillies look poised to move on to big things.  Watch them.
