Todays feature is the grade II Wizzer Stakes for three year old fillies over the mile dirt course. Almost a full field today but only a handful in with a shout for the win and three co-favourites on the morning line.

BERZERK GOLD (SEEKING THE GOLD x A.P. INDY x DANZIG)
This daughter of SEEKING THE GOLD has out together a nice sequence in graded races, including a nice Grade III win at 7f. I have two worries though- she was fairly odinary in her last Grade II try and at all her mile starts she has closed to the three quarter pole before fading near the line. Will she get the trip at this level ?

CLASSIC (TABASCO CAT x CONQUISTADOR CIELO x TOM FOOL)
She put up a storming run latest to take a Grade III over todays trip with an sp of 111. Impressive. Most of her other good runs have been in allowances, as she’s finished down the field in her two othwer recent stakes tries. Was that last run a one off ? If not she’ll take some beating today.

CA PLANE POUR MOI (FRENCH DEPUTY x PINE BLUFF x BUCKSPLASHER)
Much more experienced than the other two market leaders, she has been runing sparsley this year. Some nice runs mostly in stakes, but her last two were ordinary at best. Has time caught up with her at this level ? Because of those runs you should oppose her until she proves she back to her best. Not today.

GLASS HEART (STORMIN FEVER x END SWEEP x LORD AVIE)
Has been running in graded races all year apart from her last start and has been struggling, looking one paced. Her last run in a stakes was better (over 7f) and that may be her level now. She must surely be worth a try on turf too, the change may bring on some improvement, being by STORMIN FEVER. Not for me today as i think she’s out of her class.

TOWN HALL (PROUD CITIZEN x HONOR GRADES x BELIEVE IT)
Interesting this one, had been running in allowance company mostly at sprints, until her last htree races. Two nice allowance wins at 8f were followed by a nice fifth place in the Grade II Bluegrass Distaff over 7f. She was closing that day and the run suggets she belong at this level. Back at her optimum trip she is a big threat.

FOREST EMBLEM (FORESTRY x OUR EMBLEM x HABITAT)
Another who has been running mostly in allowances until her win in a stakes at todays trip three runs back, with a 108 sp. She then tried a Grade I and found that far too hot, before putting upa much better run latest in a Grade III at todyas trip. Likes to close from way back and has prospects of getting a top three spot.

HELL FIRE (MINESHAFT x ALYDAR x BOLD RULER)
Another who’s best recent run was probably her latest. That was a stakes win over 8.5f with a 101sp. That looks more her level as she has struggled to beat the 100sp barrier in any of her races. Not without a chance but not today for me.

RAIN DANCING (STORM CAT x MR. PROSPECTOR x ROBERTO)
Another intersting runner. She has two nice recent runs in Graded company, and was closing fast at the line in both races. They were over 8f and 8.5f and for me she’s crying out for at least 9f and maybe up to 10f at a push. She clearly belongs at this level but i think they’ll be finishing too quick for her at this trip. Top five place but watchout if she tries 9f+.

NIGHTLY DOUBLE (FELIX THE CAT x THATCHING(IRE) x DEPUTY MINISTER)
Has been running in stakes without much success until her last two runs, both in allowance company. She managed two wins but could not break 100sp, and has only done so once this year. May be able to win a stakes but is not up to this class.

ROCKCLIMBER (FORTY NINER x DANZIG x NEARCTIC)
Could be a lively outsider here. Was running on turf and looking fairly ordinary until the switch back to the main track for her last three runs. Her latest produced a win in an allowance with a 105 sp and she was pullingclear at the finish. Looks like there’s more to come buti’d have liked at least one stakes try before running in a Graded race. Still she can get a top five place at least and may be worth some show money.

As for the rest, ARROWHEADD has only one allowance win and though improving, this is too much yet, MINISTER TO DEB  has a couple of recent allowance wins but has strggled to beat the 100sp mark and doesn’t look up to this and SINISTER SIMSTER  has won three allowances onthe bounce but has also struggled to break 100 and doesn’t look good enough.

For me it’s got to be CLASSIC for the win followed by TOWN HALL and ROCKCLIMBER
