Yes Im back. I know you dont believe it but here I am. Apologies once again for the missed articles last week. Well we have a small field once again here after what was a good large field last week. Only the 6 to do battle but a classy set of 6 they are so we should be in for a good race.
For the crowds, this week we have a contest for the kids. We are going to have a balloon popping contest at 3:30pm with prizes for all. Adults are NOT allowed to join in. Next time… Have fun all.
Post 1: 25/1 THREAT (winspecial)
The longshot by a fair way here today is this 5yo mare by Red Ransom. She is going to struggle lets make no worries there. Its whether she can pull out a rip roaring run to take this out. She has pulled out big speeds before when on big odds in a Stakes race too on dirt. This is on turf but she does have the potential to cause an upset. Definitely a threat to the favourites here if you throw that in.
Post 2: 9/5 BELLA FIGURA (sgtbones)
Raging hot favourite on the bookies. Very very classy mare this one with 18 wins out of 43 starts and over $2,000,000 in career earnings. Has faltered slightly in her last 2 races which is why I would suggest the trainer has slipped her in here as a normal stakes entry to try and get some of her form back. But even out of form she is going to blitz this field. Winner in my book.
Post 3: 8/1 GOLDEN WOLF (graywolf9)
Golden Wolf is trained by legendary and local trainer in graywolf9. Although not the favourite is still a contender here and graywolf9 is known to pull some tricks out of his sleeve to get results. What does that mean exactly? I don’t know other than he is dangerous, he knows his horses and you can never count him or Golden Wolf out. Has been running very consistently performing better at the Allowance level but another try here at Stakes to try and get some results. Good luck.
Post 4: 7/2 DARE TO BE REGAL (simrace7)
The baby of the race here is this 4yo. Is coming off a win at Stakes as well as a whole string of consistent finishes in the top 3. Good speeds all in the high SP is showing this one is going to be a contender for those top 3 places once again. Dare To Be Regal suggests something royal in her bloodlines or similar but in reality she is out of a miner who used to live on a reef so that is hardly royal in my book. Nevertheless she can run and has to be considered a danger here.
Post 5: 3/1 KILL BILL (punisher)
Not sure who Bill is but with a trainers name of punisher and a horse called Kill Bill, Id be worried if I was Bill. Is coming off a 4th place finish with a SP of 100 from a G1 race. Impressive considering she is now dropping back to this Stakes level. Has a string of wins at the Stakes level and has been in and out of G2 and G3 racing with some mixed results. Another contender here for sure but needs a good run to make it. However I believe she is all total class and will win easily no worries there. Has to win. Ok Ive done my bit punisher and I believe Bill is out the back of the sheds over there….
Post 6: 2/1 GEM DANDY (turfsurf)
2nd favourite of the race is this gem of a horse in this 5yo mare called Gem Dandy. Has had a few wins recently at Stakes including some decent speeds of over 100. Last time out was a a win at G2 level in the Adrian Adonis Stakes over 10 furlongs with an SP of 99. Very handy mare this and is yet another contender here for the win. Certainly cant discount her that’s for sure….
