Placid Waters Very Cool In First Stakes Win

In a sweeping rush from last to first, Placid Waters scored her first stakes victory in this week’s Rae From Slew Special in Ireland. Under the skillful hands of top jockey Z. Kentucky, the Peace Rules filly settled in the back of the field as Hennessy Thunder and favourite Soaring Hero(Aus) battled on the lead. At the top of the stretch it looked as if Hennessy Thunder may well hold on, but as they got near to the wire Placed Waters took command, with Greenman following just a length behind her. Hennessy Thunder held on for third another half length back, while Bullard Park passed the tiring Hero to earn fourth. The final speed figure was an 88.
