Redsadky simply too quick in the Slowness Stakes GIII

Redsadky, comfortably won the Group 3 Slowness Stakes at Longchamp, justifying short priced favouritism and adding another victory to his impressive resume.

Jockey B Wu was happy to take a lead from Samaniego and Lonesome River, and always had sherwood’s imposing son of Red Ransom settled nicely in third position. These three always seemed to have the race under control with a sizeable gap developing quite quickly to Over the Top, Jump or Pushed and Equestrian Order. The last named never seemed to get into the race at all, and his jockey seemed to be concerned from an early stage.

As they rounded the home turn Lonesome River was getting the better of Samaniego up front and J Ventura set sail for home as they entered the straight. It was a well timed burst, but always destined to be unsuccessful as Wu simply let out an inch of rein and moved sweetly in pursuit. In a matter of strides, the big horse had put daylight between himself and his pursuers, and the prize money was in the bag, as Lonesome River had no reply to the surge. Jump or Pushed ran on well past the beaten Samaniego to take third but there was only really ever one horse in this race, the big horse extending his impressive record to 7 wins from 12 starts and over $900,000 won. The winners speed rating was a solid if unspectacular 102.

There’s no doubt that this colt is at the top of his game, and right at the top of the tree in his class, in fact the win moved him up to #7 in the rankings. Well done all connected with him.
