Three Year Old Turf Sprinters in Headline Nebraska

Welcome to Nebraska! Six three year olds are gathering in the walking ring for the Montjeu’s Revenge (IRE) Handicap which will be run over seven furlong on the firm turf course for $50,000. It is a mild afternoon and a sizeable crowd has gathered to watch the big races from other tracks via the simulcast televisions in lower level grandstand area. Lets have a look at the field before they head to the track.

Slam It Home from the shane03 stables arrived in the paddock as soon as the last race finished, and has be quietly walking around a big oak tree awaiting the rest of the field to join him. The lanky chocolate brown Grand Slam son has four wins, two places and a show in nine starts. His only time off the board has been running on the dirt, which makes him a force to be reckoned with in this race. He loves to let the speed horses burn themselves out then come flying at the end to win, although he has won lately his last race showed improvement. At 5/2 he’s a top contender in the field, but may have some competition.

The tatter trained One Of Us is being hidden in a saddling stall, he’s been known to be a troublemaker if he’s out in the walking ring with other horses. The slender dark grey son of Daylami has one win and three shows in ten starts. In his last eight starts he has run in stakes races, and not very well might I add. I suppose he’s a stalker but its hard to tell. At 15/1 he should be at a lot higher odds, he doesn’t have the speed figures to compete in this field.

Vsmdinc2 trained Uneqivocal is standing calmly as the saddle is placedon his back and the girth is slowly tightened. The bright eyed chestnut son of Ballingary has two wins, five places and three shows. in twelve starts. This closer certainly has seconditis, and will try to break that spell in this race. At 5/2 he should be hitting the board.

Sjmeola6 trains Want To Dance, the probable reason for a small field this week. The regal looking bay son of Mr. Greeley has been catching everyone’s eye with four wins in five starts. His last race he finished off the board but it was a graded race going a mile the first time, so we might as well ignore that race. He’ll be pressuring the pace, and taking control by the third call if its in the cards for him to win. At 5/2 this is the one to beat.

Levers’ Staying On was hoping for a freak rainstorm to make the track change from firm to good, but he wasn’t so lucky. The large bay by Zindabad has five wins, three seconds and two shows in thirteen starts. His most recent victories have been on an off course, but he has three on the firm course as well. A good break is important for him as he likes to pressure the pace when he wins races. At 3/1 he got a bum of a jockey, but is a horse that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Kirby66’s Kirby Country gets his jock Desitter hoisted into the saddle as he makes his way out onto the track. The light bay Cat Country colt has five wins, four places and a show in fifteen starts. He is a highly ranked sprinter, that has gotten lucky with easy fields. Today won’t be so easy for the horse who has yet to break 90 for a speed figure. Coming off of a win this mid packer at 6/1 has a shot at purse money, but needs to step up big time for a win.

That wraps up the field, my choices are Want To Dance, Uneqivocal and Slam It Home. Good luck to all may all your horses run their best and return home safely.
