Favourite of the race with top jockey on board coming out of barrier # 1. Is coming off a win at Stakes level but a slowish run compared to some of her earlier outings. Should be enough here anyways and if she hits her top speeds of over 100 there will be no stopping her. Most of her runs at this distance so theres no worries there for her. Trainer has to be hoping for big things from her today.

Nighthawk Liz has an impressive list of win to her name but most of these wins have been earlier in her career. Placings has been her best finish in the last 6 or so races but even then she has been consistently there. Seems to prefer a slightly longer distance than what is going around here however as she likes to lead anyway that shouldn’t be a problem. Good odds considering her career – well worth backing I think.

The old girl of the race, this 6yo mare failed last time out considerably down on her speed rating and back in the pack across the finish line. Exclude that run and she has some very nice runs to her name including a few recent wins at allowance level. Trainers obviously hoping she’ll run back into some form after a decent little spell that she is coming off now. Should be fresh and ready to go.

Master and Command hasn’t been doing a lot of mastering and commanding of late with only 2 win to her name to date. Saying that though, her second win came last time she ran in an allowance race with a SP rating of 101 over 8.5 furlongs. So folks, she can definitely run no problems there. Repeat that run and she has a big chance of taking this out. Another very good contender here.

Has run at Stake level 3 starts back with what can only be described as a shocking and disappointing run. Trainer giving her another chance to step up after really dominating the allowance races. Seems to love those. Hopefully she can step up now and run well here. Another major contender for the win or place. Bring the nuts – she loves those. That might help her.

4yo filly out of Thunder Gulch bred and owned by trainer fastmouse. In form filly here coming off a nice win at Stakes level over 10 furlongs on dirt. Perfect run and well setup here to take this out again. One of the favourites of the race with a relatively small field should be able to get to the front early as she did last time out. Has the stamina to go this distance and find some extra speed in the straight. Definite place chance or better.
