Adrian Adonis Stakes Grade II

Post 1:    6/1          BLONDIE (cindyshero)                                      Jockey    J Dowell

Races     9              Wins      4              Places     2              Shows    1

Win Ratio:             44%        In The Money Ratio:           78%        Career Earnings:   $ 84,388

Very lightly raced 4yo filly in perfect form coming off a string of wins. Last time out won convincingly in her Stakes outing with a good SP of 100 even.  Bred and trained by cindyshero, Blondie looks all class both on paper as well as on the track.  Making her debut here with another jump to G2 level, she looks ready to take on whatever is given to her.  At 6/1 is on very good odds for you punters out there and she would have to be considered for a top 3 placing.  Untried yes at this level but longshot??? I don’t think so.

Post 2:    15/1        SWEET SUNSHYNE(IRE) (357stud)               Jockey    A Epps

Races     29            Wins      7              Places     3              Shows    6

Win Ratio:             24%        In The Money Ratio:           55%        Career Earnings:   $ 345,478

5yo mare, seasoned and experienced campaigner now, bred and owned by trainer 357stud.  Nearing the end of her career she is still a threat in Stakes races with a string of recent midfield to placing finishes of late.  This is a jump up for her although she did finish 3rd across the line in a G3 race some starts back which was followed 2 starts later with a 5th place finish in a G2 race. So she knows her way around the track.  Speed ratings could be a little better and suggests she may struggle here but experience sometimes accounts for more than youth. Needs a good run and a good speed throughout the race to figure here is my bet.

Post 3:    3/1          GEM DANDY (turfsurf)                                     Jockey    T Brett

Races     29            Wins      9              Places     4              Shows    6

Win Ratio:             31%        In The Money Ratio:           66%        Career Earnings:   $ 237,654

Another experienced campaigner is this 5yo mare out of Jade Hunter, bred and owned by trainer turfsurf.  Is coming off a good win over 9 ½ furlongs in Stakes company with a SP rating of 101.  Certainly well worth trying this little gem out in a G2 race and the trainer obviously agrees as he has entered her here. Obviously or I wouldn’t be writing about her.  Unless she was running somewhere else and I was also covering that track ( highly unlikely I agree ) but I digress… Failed miserably 2 starts back but if you discount that run she is in very good form.  Definitely should finish in the top 3 with a huge chance of winning this if she gets a good run.

Post 4:    12/1        BUDA AT THE BALLET (juju)                        Jockey    C Pearce

Races     34            Wins      9              Places     7              Shows    7

Win Ratio:             26%        In The Money Ratio:           68%        Career Earnings:   $ 320,052

2nd longshot of this race but no pushover by any means is Buda at the Ballet with 9 wins to her name.  Rumoured to enjoy long sessions at the ballet dances each Friday night, she comes across as a gentle mare but is anything but out on the racetrack.  Last time out was a good win over 11 furlongs in Stakes company which has only continued her good form. In fact she hasn’t finished worse than third in her last 6 races.  Certainly time for a try at the big guns here.  Will need to find some extra speed to finish in the placings but with a small field certainly wont be held up in the straight if she can finish strongly.  Worth watching.

Post 5:    7/2          IMPERIAL OATS(AUS) (bentley)    Jockey    V Hull

Races     40            Wins      13            Places     10            Shows    8

Win Ratio:             33%        In The Money Ratio:           78%        Career Earnings:   $ 615,410

The old girl of the race at 6yo, bred out of the famous Australian sire Testa Rossa (AUS).  A distinguished racing career behind her she can still run with the best of them and produce results as can be seen in her recent race results.  Has been up and down from Group races to Stakes of late with wins and placings in the stakes and just out of the top3 finishes in the Group races.  With the small field here can certainly use that to her advantage especially as she likes coming from the rear of the field and hopefully wont have to contend with too much traffic on the way through this time out.  Chance of a place here I believe.

Post 6:    6/1          STAR INDY (lodog20)                                        Jockey    Z Purton

Races     26            Wins      4              Places     0              Shows    8

Win Ratio:             15%        In The Money Ratio:           46%        Career Earnings:   $ 121,228

Star Indy is one of those fillies that jumps well and likes to take the lead early on.  Finished last time out 4th across the line in a G3 race after leading for much of the way.  Harder this time out in terms of this being a G2 race but the field is smaller so you would have to think a better chance for her this time around.  She is dropping back a little in distance which may help her considerably in the final straight to hold onto her lead.  Will need the lead to have any chance you would think to cross the line first.  Definite place chance though.

Post 7:    3/2          ESTROGEN (tnilsson)                                       Jockey    C Wyatt

Races     36            Wins      14            Places     6              Shows    4

Win Ratio:             39%        In The Money Ratio:           67%        Career Earnings:   $ 2,125,160

And then we come to the favourite of the race in Estrogen, a 5yo mare out of Sadlers Wells bred and owned by trainer tnilsson with a massive career earnings of over $2 million.  14 wins to her name with a SP rating of 107 last time being her 14th win for her career which was preceded by a SP rating of 102 and a 3rd place finish in a G3 race.  Hands down favourite for this race, is all class and has the career to show for it as well.  Has my money for the win and should take this out easily.  SHOULD win I say!!!
