KANYAKUMARI  (chance4bad) 24 runs, 11 wins $291,486

SAKHEE x PLEASANT COLONY x ROYAL ACADEMY

This 4 year old bay filly by lightly patronized sire Sakhee has had 1 run on this track without doing a great deal but conditions should suit. 3 runs back she blitzed a 14F Hot Race field in Minnesota (America), on turf, running SP 75. She followed that with a fast finishing 2nd in the 14F G3 The Ohio Distaff IN Ohio (America), on turf, running SP 102. Her final lead up run resulted in a pleasing 4th in the 12F G3 Tabitha Bewitched Stakes in Kentucky (America), on turf, running a career high SP 109. To be ridden by Y Kester from gate 1. This mare has been great for connections but meeting some hot opposition here. Always consistent so will race well but a place chance only for mine. ODDS 7/1

INEBRIATED CADET (creamsoda) 18 runs, 8 wins $231,635

GIANT’S CAUSEWAY x GREEN DANCER x TOM ROLFE

This beautifully bred G1 winning 5 year old brown mare by the great Giant’s Causeway out of the G1 winning mare Our Dad is as yet is untested on this track but has been placed over the 12F AT Stakes level, another having her 1st attempt at Graded company. After 2 impressive 10F Stakes wins, on turf, the trainer tested her on dirt, finishing 3rd (14 – ¼ lengths) at Stakes level in the 10.5F Copenhagen Again Dirt Mare Memorial in Massachusetts (America), running SP 99. She returned to the turf finishing a distant 3rd in a 12F Allowance race in New York (America), running SP 90. Her final lead up run resulted in an all the way win in a 9.5F Hot Race again in New York, running SP 58. To be ridden by R Heller from gate 2. Taking on the silk department here, may find this too steep a hill to climb. ODDS 14/1

CANTERBURY QUEEN (kentred) 20 runs, 10 wins $1,429,520

DEEP IMPACT (JPN) x NUREYEV x MILL REEF

My No 2 Selection:  Another regally bred up and coming star of the turf. This G2 winning 5 year old brown mare is as yet is untested on this track but will also relish the conditions of this race. This daughter of champion Japanese sire Deep Impact blitzed a 12F Allowance field in California (America), 3 runs back, on turf, running SP 96. She then matched motors with My Role Model, finishing a hard fought 2nd in the prestigious 14F Equinics – Grade 1 Winner in Vermont (America), on turf, running a slick SP 110. Her final lead up run resulted in a super impressive win in the 12F G3 The Wild Orchid in Florida (America), on turf, running a sizzling SP 113. To be ridden by N Lawton from gate 3. Outstanding mare that would get my vote except my favorite filly (My Role Model) is also running. This will be a match race in my opinion, great race with both sets of connections full of anticipation. Great winning chance, will it be her turn for G1 glory.  ODDS 8/5

This well-bred Stakes winning 5 year old chestnut mare by champion staying sire Montjeu has been placed at this track, on dirt, is a winner over the 12F journey on dirt, she is also attempting Graded company for the 1st time. Her best performance on turf came (09/03/2013) in a 10.5F Allowance race in Denmark. Her last 9 runs have all been on dirt, including a 12F Stakes win, culminating in a 2nd place finish in a 11F Allowance race in Maryland (America), running SP 97. To be ridden by T Ace from gate 4. There are a couple of the best females around to get past here, can’t see her troubling them.  ODDS 12/1

MY ROLE MODEL (eminc) 13 runs, 8 wins $1,897,058

GALILEO x A.P. INDY x STREET CRY

My No 1 Selection:  This well bred, 4 year old bay, G1 winning darling of the turf, out of the maiden winning mare Time Truth Hearts is as yet is untested on this track but will relish the conditions of this race. This daughter of super star sire Galileo had a stellar 3 year old season, she then resumed with a trot and canter to win a 12F Allowance race in Canada, on turf, running SP 98. She then revved up big time, from the back, to win the prestigious 14F Equinics – Grade 1 Winner in Vermont (America), on turf, running a slick SP 110. Her final lead up run resulted in a fair 8th in the 12F Sand Castle Golden Turf Classic in Dubai, on turf, running SP 108. To be ridden by regular big race jockey Z Ayya from gate 5. Maybe she didn’t like the heat in the desert last start. Ready to recapture her best form, great filly, great chance.  ODDS 7/2

DAENERYS DRAGON (spqr2nd) 10 runs, 3 wins $262,055

This stoutly bred Stakes winning 4 year old bay filly by champion staying sire Montjeu is a winner at this track and has been placed over the 12F journey, she is also attempting Graded company for the 1st time. After 2 consecutive Allowance wins, on turf, over 11F and 10F respectively, she led all the way to win at Stales level in the 11.5F Exclamation Turf Filly Stayer in NSW (Australia), on turf, running SP 102. Bred to run all day, can earn much needed Graded status with the right run, chance.  ODDS 6/1

PROPICIOUSLY (markan) 29 runs, 13 wins $1,463,928

PULPIT x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY x DISTORTED HUMOR

This well bred bred G1 winning 6 year old chestnut mare by capable sire Pulpit is a G1 winner on this track over this distance on turf. After an 11.5F Stakes win she ran led them up before finishing 3rd in the 10F G2 The Epicenter in New York (America), on turf, running SP 104. She followed that with a fine win in the 13F G2 The Pamona in Deauville (France), on turf, running a solid SP 109. Connections then sent her for a well-earned rest before returning and being surprisingly beaten in an 11F Hot Race, again in Deauville, on turf, running SP 83.  To be ridden by M Kelly from gate7. Very good mare that must have connection scratching their heads after her last run. Maybe she had done to well in the paddock. Needs to improve big time to beat a couple of these but is a G1 winner and can’t be underestimated.   ODDS 4/1

  • I only entered because it was named after SB… I feel like I have no chance, but then again that is the same chance I would of given SB in the equinics.

Daenerys had 6 wins from 10 coming into the race, not 3. I thought it was a good place to try for a graded placing though with the top of the field a win would be tough. Elated with the victory, hope she can keep it going in 2014
