EAAA Racing – The Residency
History
EAAA Racing came into being in the summer of 2005. Following the set up of 2
separate divisions, America and EAAA, an opportunity was presented to create
a residency that catered for those players that preferred running their
horses in the smaller division. Although there were many residencies that
represented and were located on the North American and Australasian
continents, there were few elsewhere. The void was noticed by EAAA founder
‘Roddick’ and the residency was born. As with all new residencies the early
months were challenging as the residency competed with more established
residencies to gain newer members. After a few months, Roddick regrettably
had to take a break from the sim and founder members Kevoman, RacingWhisper
and Teddy stepped into the breach to keep the residency afloat. Through the
perseverance of those three the residency is now a vibrant community with
numerous contests and initiatives set up to create a competitive but
friendly environment.
Contests
As with many residencies, the backbone of our contests is the trainers
championship which is run over a 13-week period and scored on each resident
stable’s runners being placed in the first three, with bonus points for
running at an EAAA track. This contest has been won on every occasion by one
of Kevoman’s stables and he now issues a challenge to any player in the sim
to come and try to defeat him! A new trainers championship starts week 2832.
We also have weekly contests which include nominating one of your own
runners to obtain the highest speed-rating and another where you try and
achieve the best possible odds. A 3rd weekly contest we have is a
handicapping contest where residents are asked to name the winner of 3
high-profile races for that week, the prize being a well-bred horse from our
holding stable. Other contests currently ongoing are a versatility challenge
and a unique contest named ‘Seven Ages’ where resident stables have to
obtain a winner with seven different aged horses (not as easy as it sounds!)
A contest that is due to start in May is the EAAA Cup where resident stables
will go head-to-head in a league basis with play-offs occurring at the end
of the season. Minnesota residents will know this format well 😉
The Pitch
As we are now beginning new contests it seems an opportune time to seek out
potential residents. We’re not asking players to leave their current
residency of choice but maybe consider stabling a couple of their stables
with us. We have plenty of stable space available and are looking to expand.
What you may ask can we offer? Apart from those contests mentioned we also
have an ongoing initiative where we reward residents for participating in
every contest, so even if you don’t win the contest you are still a winner
at the end of the day! We are happy to accept new and veteran players alike,
so if you want to join a residency that is ‘on the up’ then we would be
delighted to hear from you.
