10 3year olds fighting for a place in future classic fields

Ladies and Gentleman,  this is my first try to write a BTB Article.  In the southern state of Alabama 10 3yo go to the start of the “UNNECESSARY BUOY” Special Stakes, 1 mile on firm Turf donated with a purse of 60.000 Dollars.  It seemed for me a wide open race,which is reflected by the odds of the bookmakers.  The Variety goes from 9/2 to 11/1 and on paper it looks like all ten could reach the winning post as a winner. But now in detail:

PP: 1 CASCADE FLING (IRE) (High ChaparralxGone West X Nureyev). homedfrog’s High Chaparral colt has now 6 starts under his belt with 2 wins.  His sole start as a 2yo ended as winning one with a SP of 69.   Also his first start as 3yo ended with a win and a respectable SP of 85.  He has 2 starts in Stakes company, at 9f and o n the last start over 8f ended with a third respective second place.  On his last start he earned his lifetime best SP of 90.  This frontrunner should be therabout in the finish, but I am not sure if he last out the distance.  Could reach a minor place.

PP 2 SILVER DRAGON (CivilisationxSadler:s WellsxBeau Buck). owban2’s Civilisation colt has nine starts with 4 wins.  His only start as 3yo was in a Alw.  He wins from wire to wire and earned his best SP of 89.  He looks open for further improvement, but there are some frontrunning horses, so it will be seen how effective he is in this class.  Should be thereabout.

PP 3: RAGAZZA (RousillonxTirolxDamister) .Trainer seilern must held this filly in high regard to send her against the boys.  After 9 starts she has only a maiden win to her credit,butit seems she improves from start to start as a 3yo.  Her maiden win was easily with a SP of 82.  Then come a run below their form.  In the last start in an Alw she earned a SP figure of 93 and was beaten only 1/2 a length in the last 50 yards.  With further improvement, maybe she can steal the boy the show.A placing in the top five is real.

PP 4 : FALIANO (IRE) (Falbrav(IRE)xFappianoxNight Shift)
shorblue5’s Falbrav son FALIANO make half of his 6 starts a winning one.  He earned his best S|P figure of 91 on his penultimate start in an Alw race.  His last race in stakes company ended with a 6 th place, but beaten only 3 lengths.  With improvement, he could make surely a place in the top five.

PP 5 : ST.PAULI GIRL (Milwaukee BrewxKaldoun(FE)xTurn To)
booberry’s 9/2 Morning Line favorite is a model of consistency. In his seven starts he earned three wins,three seconds and one third.  His best SP is 92.  His 2 starts as a 3yohe makes to two easy wins, and earning his best SP figure on the last of this starts.  With the predictable improvement he must be the horse to beat.

PP 6 : OJAI TOOT (MineshaftxCat ThiefxStorm Boot)
ojai4keith:   Mineshaft son OJAI TOOT is currently the number thirty in the classic turf division.  In 12 start so far he reached 54 wins, three of them in Stakes races.  2 Stakes wins came as a two year old.  As a 3yo he won a four runner stakes race with a SP figure of 84.  This was in his first start as a 3yo.  The last three starts in Stakes Company an one in a Grade 3 he run under for.  It seems like he was a 2yo and is now struggling in this company.  Shoiuld be thereabout but hardly I see him winning.

PP 7 : HOLIDAY FRED (Harlan’s HolidayxMaria’s MonxDixielandband) fcwltd’s HOLIDAY FRED has two wins in nine starts.   He has also a third place in a Stakes race in the book.  His SP figures in mid eighties suggest that he must make a great improvement to figure in the finish.

PP 8: EL GRAN APE (LammtarraxA.P.DancerxBoldnesian)
ap’s Lammtarra son, reached in 13 starts 2 wins and 5 placings.  His stakes win come as a two year old.  In his three 3yo starts, he shows no improvement to his juvenile form.  His race was a 9f stakes race where he finished third with a SP| of 84.  Must make great improvement to figure prominent in this race.

PP 9 : BARB’S ROSEBUD (A.P.IndyxSadler!s Wellsx Buckaroo)
Wolverine’s A.P.Indy colt has only five runs under his belt and gets two wins.  His best SP of 86 makes him vulnerable, but as a lightly raced horse there is there very much room for improvement, and with his style of racing from behind, he could catch a minor place in the end.

PP 10 : MORE THAN SILVER (More than ReadyxGone WestxNureyev)
kyclocker3’s More than Silver won 2 of his nine races and was
placed four times.  His best SP he reached on his last start in a Stakes race over 9f with 88.  His last four starts was on distances over 1 mile.  This step bac k in distance must not be ideal, but with an improved form he can fight for a minor place.


At the end, the horse to beat is St.Paulis Girl.  FALIANO,CASCADE FLING and EL GRAN APE should gibe him a great fight.  The horse for a shock result is RAGAZZA.
