1) BARB’S DOG PEN 8/1
This 4yo Maria’s Mon filly draws the rail for barbstable. She steps back into Stakes company after a very solid closing victory in her last at this distance. That win came in a non restricted 4 and up allowance race and she will have to improve off that effort to take the top prize today. This race has enough early foot to insure an honest pace and if she doesn’t fall to far off the pace she could pick up enough horses to hit the board. Y.Maguire gets the assignment in search of the third victory this year.
2) DANA CAT 3/2
The favorite in the race comes in with an impressive 16 wins in 33 lifetime start’s. lawdro seeks his 12th Stakes victory for this 5yo mare of Polish Navy. She found the winners circle in her last race The Tricky Slew Special at this distance. That win comming off a career worst 4 race losing streak. She should be sitting right off the pace entering the stretch and when top jock Z.Ayya shakes her up she should win as she pleases. A lot to like about this one.
3) JINXY JILL 11/1
phalaris sends out this 5yo Zieten mare. She closed well in her last outing to finish 4th though that was in allowance NW1Y. This is a big step up for this closer type who has done most of her running at a mile or more. She ran here two race back in a stakes an even 4th at a mile. Her Sp’s are not up to what the top ones have been running and she will have a lot of work to do today to catch a spot on the tote board. E.Anderson gets the mount today.
4) WARRIOR KNITTING 15/1
First time out for new connections. caddywampu sends out this 8yo Green Street mare in search of a Stakes at first asking. This old gal has a ton of early foot and will insure an honest pace. When it gets time for the real running to start I feel she will be backing up and let enough by her to not be a threat at the wire. F.Solomon gets the leg up on this one and must be thinking of ways to try and save something for that last 2 furlongs.
5) HOUSE IN THE SKY 9/1
This 4yo Sky Mesa filly is sent postward by ekspect. Her last three starts have been in Stakes company with a place and show to her credit. She is a stalker type who if she gets things her own way could suprise. She would have to give her best effort with the likes of these and with the jockey selection of L.Langfield that could be a reach.
6) BARB’S SPOOK 4/1
Entered by lukebarn, this 4yo Kingmambo filly didn’t seem to care for the off track that came her way last time out. I think you can throw that out as she never seemed to pick up the bit early on as she usually does. She is a winner of 5 of 11 lifetime and has a lot of early speed. The race before last she ran a monster 107 Sp going 6.5 panels. If the top one falters this is the one to fear. The jock B.Cooper is a concern as his 1 for 53 record reflects. I am sure the only thing these connections are thinking is that he is long overdue.
7) SLEWSKA 7/1
A very impressive 7 for 21 lifetime, 17 in the money is what this 4yo Distorted Humor filly brings to the party. cobleskill ships in off a very handy allowance victory last time out. She is 3 for six on the lawn and her connections have tried many differant things to try and find the right combination. Seven on the lawn seems to be one that works and although her Sp’s may not be where the top ones have been, she should not be overlooked and I would not be surprised to hear her name being called in the last furlong. B.Tate gets the call on this talented filly.
8) WIJINSKI II 9/2
This 6yo Woodman mare catches the outside post today. alien23 brings her in off an allowance win at 5 furlongs. 7 furlongs maybe a little more than she wants as she has been giving away a little more ground in the stretch in her races at similar distances. She will have to bring her A game today to keep some of the others at bay as they drive towards the wire. She is a tough one though and never gives anything away without a fight. Gets a very capable jock in the irons today with D.Nabinger and that could be the differance
