Mares line up:

MY VICTORIA MANTA seeking 10th win

Coming saturday in Ostend we have the The SKILLFULLY SHUFFLE Special Stakes for  Fillies and mares, 3 years old and up, Eight and a half on the Good Turf Course, Purse : $50,000 (€ 40,397).

The going is good, a remarkable performance by the track maintainance crew. They had to deal with lots of rain lately due to the very wet summer in Benelux, where it is very nice weather for november.

At 4/5 is listed nr 5  MY VICTORIA MANTA, running under the network6-colors of the Manni stables. She comes of 4 wins in a row and 9 in total from 25 starts. Including a Gr3 win in week 2482. The softer going doesn’t seem to hurt her chances a bit, she already came second in a Gr3 on good turf. With 100+ sp’s in almost all her stakes appearances, this 5yo mare by Arazi is the horse to beat in this race. The competition will have a tough nut to crack.

Second favorite at 2/1 with PP 3 is good old CIELO DANCER a 6yo millionaire who has entered the autumn of her career. This mare by CONQUISTADOR CIELO has won several graded races in her haydays, but logically the sparkle has tempered a bit after 52 races. With her lines and career she will be a gem to have in the breeding shed for her breeder/owner terryg. But its not over yet, she is still competing at stakes level, last time out she was 3rd in a stakes over todays distance. Also she has run very good graded races on off track so that shouldn’t be a worry. A mare with a great career and a great heart.

Third in the morningline 9/2  FORTRESS TWERTON in box 4. Last time out this 6yo mare by RAHY, owned by sls, won a stakes race under similar conditions as today. It was a narrow escape win by a nose, while she was just in time to put her nose in front flying in the stretch. That made 2 in a row for her, I don’t think she will get a third but she will be flying in the stetch to compete for the places.

Both inside boxes 1,2 are at 7/1 in the morning line. MINTZKOV LUNA(IRE) sticks out because she won a stakes LTO at 9/1, in which #3 CIELO DANCER came third.  This will be a nice horse for an ‘upset’ for the places. It looks to be a solid claim for trainer pureclass. It was a smart move bringing the mare back to the grass.

Finally at PP1 SJ’S DANEHILL DANCER(IRE) , she seems to prefer the longer sprints instead of saturday’s distance. Recent routes sp’s where between 83-95 and that seems a bit to slow for this field to compete.

Everybody a nice weekend and don’t forget your umbrella if you are coming to Ostend.
