Fantastic Filly Wins Stretch Duel Over Colt

As expected, SJ’s Silver Bridle on the rail jumped out to the early lead in Saturday’s El Glen Special, chased by North Of The Cat from post two. I’m Set(Aus) and A Real Cool Cat settled in close behind them, with favourite Mr. Bandito a bit farther back. At the halfway point, I’m Set(Aus) and Mr. Bandito both made their moves. North Of The Cat attempted to make a move, but had nothing left. When they hit the top of the stretch, it looked as if I’m Set(Aus) had the race wrapped up, but Mr. Bandito found another gear. He stuck a nose in front, but I’m Set(Aus) wouldn’t let him all the way by. Colt and filly battled side by side through the final furlong, and just before the wire, with one last huge effort I’m Set(Aus) asserted her dominance and put the colt away. SJ’s Silver Bridle held on for third, with North Of The Cat and A Real Cool Cat collecting the last of the cheques.

I’m Set(Aus) finished with a 92 speed figure over the six furlongs. The daughter of Reset(Aus) increased her earnings to a half a million, and her record on an off track to three for three. She is now ranked #14 in the turf sprint filly division.
