The SALSABIL MILE Grade 3

THE SALSABIL MILE
GRADE 3
Race. 2762.3315
By HeavyGear

Classic Racing with a big showdown, reputations on the line for the establish stars;
and some up and coming hopefuls looking to mix it up in the
higher classes of Stakes racing.
Can they carve out a niche for themselves and grab some glory here ?

(1) BAD SCENE 14/1
Seems to have found some good form of late on turf,
with 2 wins in a row. Has no Stakes starts to date and
this lack of experience is a worry here.

(2) DELUSIONAL 13/1
May be fitter from last starts 3rd in the 9f The OUR COWS Special
Stakes. Good Jockey onboard in J.Wesselman but may struggle
for pace here.

(3) STICKY DIAMOND 17/1
Never been unplaced so far in her career.
Has got a good finish. Go by her starts in the ALL STAR Honor
Memorial Stakes and The Strike The Pose Memorial for a guide.
But others have more appeal.

(4) JEN JEN DYNAMO 12/1
Big run 2 starts back in The PHARBONE WISH (FR) Challenge Stakes.
In the boom and bust cycle of her form she should be doing her best this week,
but you’ll have to take her on faith.
Chance of getting in the money if she does everything right.

(5) DARK FLASH (AUS) 6/1
Super run last time out in SILVER SPOON Juvenile – G2 and
already has a stakes win to her name over this trip.
And I still think it’s the one to beat here despite C.Milhouse riding it,
it’s the best ride they’ll get all year.

(6) CANNOT COMPLY 7/1
Win in the DelPenn Champions Day – Juvenille fillies Stakes race two
starts back is nothing to sneeze at. Has recorded solid speed figures and
one feels that a big run is just around the corner for her. Has a fine
Jockey in J. Dyson.
Not without its chances and will be trying. Each-Way chance.

(7) LADY OF THE BEST (IRE) 11/1
Has been steadily improving since a switch to turf earlier in its career.
Use the 2nd place finish in The RAINBOW BRIDGE II Special Stakes start
as your guide. Should be fitter from last start over 8.5f but may just
not have enough firepower here.

(8) TORCH SONG 10/1
Her form is all over the place, a lackluster effort last start in Ireland over 6f
in The Whodini Shootout – G2. She needs to recapture the form that won her the
BOOKER .T Handicap – G3 over this distance. Has a great jockey onboard
in R. Williams and he may just be able to tame this wild one.
Can get into the money if she doesn’t throw the jockey off first.

(9) MALINDI 6/1
Has five wins from nine starts, latest form is four wins in a row; with
three of those being Stakes starts. But her only trip over the routes which
was on dirt was unsuccessful. Her toughest test to date, and a small query
over the distance. Has ability and could be a surprise packet here,
as a turf route start may actually suit her.

(10) CELESTIAL REEF (IRE) 8/1
Another filly with mixed form, raced well in The I’M SLEW TOO Challenge
Stakes over 8.5f, and in the 8f The HARDLY WITH MARC Special Stakes.
Has an okay jockey onboard in W.D Bubba.
One of the main chances here.

(11) PERFECTA 7/1
Proved her versatility by running a close 2nd last time out in the
9.5f SISTER RUM Classic Cup, and has allowance wins over this trip
but it is hard to see her toppling the heavyweights here.

(12) BRUCIE BONUS 9/2
Has never been unplaced in her seven career starts, with five wins
and two of those being stakes wins. Good win in the DANCER R. Special
Stakes over this trip and will be hard to keep out of the money here.
Will challenge for the win.

CONCLUSION

I’ll have to tip, Darkflash (AUS) on her last start run for the win here, but 2nd and 3rd is
very tight, Celestial Dancer (IRE) on her best should get 2nd but she may not fire.
Brucie Bonus is ultra-consistent and will feature somewhere in the placings
maybe even win if things don’t go right for Darkflash (AUS) in the run.

Selections:
(1) DARKFLASH
(2) CELESTIAL DANCER
(3) BRUCIE BONUS
