Race 5 Ramblings Stakes Grade III

Field of nine all set for the Ramblings Stakes GIII in Kentucky.  This race is set for one mile over what has been declared as a firm turf surface.  The crowds are in, the punters are lining up, the beer is being put on ice and all is ready for the countdown.  Now to the contenders:

Post 1:             2/1 Xtremely A Fan (jpcrazy)

Favourite of the race at 2/1is Xtremely A Fan, a 5yo out of A.P. Indy.  Some impressive recent runs include 2nd at The Penn Dash, a 3rd placing in the Breeders Bowl Mile G1 and a very fast win in the Utah BB Mile G2. Well deserved favourite and will be very very hard to beat.

Post 2:             11/1 Streaking Silver (jbfarms)

A 4yo colt out of Silver Deputy has been racking up consistent runs in Allowance company.  Last time out was a streaking win with a personal high SP of 102.  Will need that sort of run again here and could well be pushing the leaders if able to reproduce last time out.

Post 3:            12/1 Kris Deberg (roberto)

4yo Colt which has 3 wins on the turf all at the allowance level. Had a recent try out at Stakes level but couldn’t fire and finished a disappointing seventh. Could struggle here up against considerable classier horses but is coming off consecutive wins which has to give him some heart.

Post 4:             7/2 Delight Delta (goldtiger)

Second favourite of the race is Delight Delta, a 5yo horse by Green Desert bred and owned by goldtiger.  Very consistent horse and racing lately in Allowance company with a series of placings never finishing worse than 4th place.  Last time out was at the The Gordon A.P. Memorial Stakes which was a resounding win by 2 lengths.  Not quite at the class of Xtremely A Fan but definitely more consistent.  Chance of  another win.

Post 5:             5/1 Beyer Beware (lenny271)

Punter beware.  Good odds on this one and last time out was a ripper with a fast second placing in the Laffit Handicap G3 and a SP of 109.  Reproduce that and this is another one who could win.

Post 6:             8/1 Our Star T (march2nd)

Another one who has been back and forth between allowance and stakes races with mixed success.  Had a good win in The Duke’s Paints Special Stakes but then backed that up with a second last position in the Sanders Stakes G2 in admittedly higher company.  Needs to have a good run for a chance.

Post 7:             8/1 Rahy Breaks Away (JPN) (greatdane)

4yo colt with only 7 races under his belt for 2 wins.  Hasn’t won at Stakes level yet but his last 2 outings both at G2 level were sensational for a third and fifth place.  Looks promising and I like the look of this one.  I’d take this one for a place.

Post 8:             7/1 Kyla’s Boy (gipper8)

Coming off the back of 3 wins at the Allowance level this 4yo colt also by Green Desert is running well.  Not as impressive in terms of best speed figures as others here is certainly in good form which might be why she is being fancied as a chance.

Post 9:             19/1 Glittering Sumer (corza4)

This little 4yo colt by Summer Squall has been round the track 22 times for 3 wins and earnings of just over $138,000.  Coming off a win over 8f on turf at Allowance level is being given another chance at Stakes.  Doesn’t look like he is ready just yet and previous attempts have failed at this level.  Not really a chance in my opinion…

Acarigua’s Picks:

1          Xtremely A Fan

2          Delight Delta

3          Rahy Breaks Away (JPN)
