Indian Whiskey Sprints Into Top 25

It was quite a battle up front in this week’s Ninth Con Special. Phoo Phoo broke ahead of Scotian Tiff(Saf) and V’s High. Indian Whiskey settled in just a length or so back, waiting for the leader to tire. Indian Whiskey moved first, but Scotian Tiff(Saf) moved before she could draw even. They passed the tiring Phoo Phoo in the stretch, and it looked as if Tiff would hold off the driving daughter of Indian Charlie, but with one last effort Indian Whiskey drew past her to score a quarter length victory. Phoo Phoo held on for third, with Pierce(Ire) just getting the nod over favorite Literal Connection for the fourth place photo.

Today’s victory marked Indian Whiskey’s third consecutive stakes victory, and catapulted her into the #22 ranking in the 3yo filly dirt sprint division. Scotian Tiff(Saf) ran a career-best 84 and it certainly looks as if she will continue to improve. Phoo Phoo gave a good account of herself in her stakes debut, finishing with an 80 speed figure.
