Arabian Sun (GB) Goes Wire to Wire in Kentucky Stubble
Last week’s Kentucky Stubble Bonanaza turned out to be an exciting edge of your seat race.
All ten fillies loaded well into the starting gate and there was a moment of suspense before the start of the race. Arabian Sun (GB) trained by v8mullet and ridden by R. Sweeny sprang out with an early lead by a 2 3/4 length margin from the rest of the field. Following close behind was Xenophobe owned by lopickles with jockey G. Blinn riding. Also not too far behind was She Beast T (IRE) trained by skyhigh . The rest of the field stayed mid pack, with Kirby’s Play Cat and Bubble Dancer , owned by jsg and catfish , respectfully.
At the second call Arabian Sun (GB) widened his lead over the rest of the field to four and one fourth lengths, with Xenophobe still running behind in second. She Beast T (IRE) continued to hold on to third. Conga Line owned by super11 and Giggly Girly trained by bombsaway battled it out for fourth. Kirby’s Play Cat and Bubble Dancer continued to trail the pack.
When the third call came Arabian Sun (GB) was starting to loose some ground, her lead now only three and three fourths of a length over the rest of the field. Xenophobe and She Beast T (IRE) quickly gaining lost ground. Then like a bullet Alluring Niner G owned by zz and ridden by E. Sharp, shot up from sixth into fourth with Conga Line and Giggly Girly dropping back. Barb’s Dane Silly (GB) owned by jakematt1 and Rarju Diva trained by ozsteve battled for seventh. Bubble Dancer had passed Kirby’s Play Cat , leaving her twelve and three-fourths lengths behind the leader.
And finally in the stretch, Araban Sun (GB) crossed the wire first, winning by one and one-fourth length, over a late, but impressive run by Alluring Niner G , and Xenophobe held on for show, with She Beast T (IRE) fading back into mid pack. Arabian sun (GB) posted an impressive ninety-one speed figure, of which was a career best for the filly. Trainer v8mullet was obviously excited with the results.
