Eleven Ladies to Meet in NC
Seven and half furlongs Fast Dirt $55,000 Fillies and Mares 4 years old and up
Success is no stranger to this group of runners, and the solid performance will be needed to reward any of these runners with a trip to winner’s circle.
PP1 | whitener | Owner- | Astin | Jockey- | K Naber | Odds | 6/1 |
Deputy Minister x Seeking the Gold
A winner of over seven hundred thousand, she likes to run slightly off the pace and rally in the later stages of the race. She is a former graded stakes winner, and should be seriously considered in this event.
PP2 | ayden | Owner- | Duke | Jockey- | W Baker | Odds | 7/2 |
Unbirdled’s Song x Summer Squall
The morning line favorite- Don’t let his one win in nine starts discourage you. She has put together a strong series of performances. She should be on or near the lead from the outset, but holding onto that position is something that her ownership is hoping to see improvement.
PP3 | forty Beers | Owner- | Steelewolf | Jockey- | Odds | 8/1 |
Forty Niner x Vice Regent
A six year old mare with only thirteen starts- she should be pressuring the pace down the backstretch.
PP4 | cap the deupty | Owner- | Nogriftn | Jockey- | M Joines | Odds | 9/2 |
Deputy Minister x Capote
She brings a two race winning streak into this event. She has proven the ability to run near the front or off the pace. I would expect her to be patiently waiting off the pace, and waiting for signs of tiring runners ahead of her at the top of the stretch.
PP5 | chance for delta | Owner- | Imatiger2 | Jockey- | Y Clubb | Odds | 14/1 |
American Chance x Master Bill
Not exactly a stellar breeding, but this four year old has been impressive. A restricted stakes winner, her allowance performance LTO was enough to prompt her placement into this event.
PP6 | mardi gras ta ta | Owner- | Brettlee | Jockey- | D Sherrard | Odds | 20/1 |
Souvenir Copy x Kris(GB)
She struggled at nine furlongs, and is stepping back to a more suitable distance. The level of competition in this event is a bit too much for her.
PP7 | my beautiful wife | Owner- | Wistful2 | Jockey- | T Mafit | Odds | 11/1 |
Deputy Minister x Alydar
This six years old has not entered a sprint distance, so this event will be her first test under a mile in length. She has a tendency of rallying off the pace, so the key will be for her to stay within range during the early part of the race.
PP8 | Owner- | Ritchie | Jockey- | N Stalker | Odds | 11/1 |
Dixieland Band x Green Dancer
She had a four race winning streak broken in her last trip. That trip was good enough to give ownership reason to return for this event.
PP9 | langlauf | Owner- | Jockey- | D Prior | Odds | 15/1 |
Langfuhr x Brian’s Time
A five year old mare that will need a big bounce to be considered a legitimate contender.
PP10 | dry gully girl(ire) | Owner- | Kensei | Jockey- | P Bavaro | Odds | 6/1 |
She has run out of contention the last two times out, but previous performances show that she once had the talent and could be a challenger any time out. With only seventeen races under her belt, she should have more future success.
PP11 | wood attack | Owner- | Casino | Jockey- | D Esperado | Odds | 7/1 |
Atticus x Woodman
Came up a bit short the last outing, but performance was a solid enough to catch the attention of many handicappers. If she returns a similar performance, it may be good enough to put her in the money at the wire.
This is a nice field of runners that should create a battle for a position in the winner’s circle. No clear cut favorite exist, and much optimism exist among the eleven owners.
