(1) VASECTOMY

Won first start at this track over 8f in a very slow
race time. Is going to need to really step up in pace
here to feature in the finish.

(2) CANDLEPOWER (IRE)

Had an allowance win at 8.5f last start following from a 3rd the start before.
Improving type that will enjoy the jump in distance.
Has yet to win at a Stakes Level.
Should finish in the money but tough opponent in Skills In Magic.

(3) SKILLS IN MAGIC

Has a Stakes win to his credit over 8.5f in The CANDLE QUE (IRE) Challenge.
And whilst only 5th in the Epiphany Too Handicap over 8.5f can be forgiven for that start because the pace was cracking and he still posted a 90sp as a then 2yr old.
Definitely the one to beat here.

(4) REDOUTE’S VICE (AUS)

Has shown some ability over the sprints but untried over routes;
and the 9.5f will be a huge test here. Danehill line so may get the distance but
then again it may not; will be struggling to place here.

(5) ITHREWUPINMYMOUTH (AUS)

Despite its icky name it has a Stakes victory in the sprinting lanes.
But like Vasectomy has never been over a mile.
Stepping up 2.5f here from last start.
Should finish somewhere in the money but hard to see it
overcoming the proven router in Skills In Magic.

Conclusion

Is it a one horse race ?
Yup certainly looks like a Skills In Magic win unless
Candlepower (Ire) can produce something special..
