What Happens In Mexico…..Stays In Mexico

Race 10 on the card this week in Mexico is the Secret Prospector Challenge Stakes worth 45k for 4 year old and up mares. Six of them will contest for stakes glory and the weatherman is predicting a top day so get to the track and see the show that will be put on.

Let’s take a look at the field……

Crafty Lyphard will jump from barrier one and is a 6 year old mare from the barns of blaster3. This Crafty Prospector filly is capable of some quick times in alw company but was a big dissapointment last time she stepped up to stakes level. Doesn’t seem to find the fizz when it counts and has ran out of a bit of steam on those occasions. Will likely press forward again but if ridden off the pace may suit. Will need to run at absolute best to take this one.

Kase Dismissed is a 4 year old filly by Gone West and she’s been rated a 5/1 chance in latest markets. Top run two starts back to run second behind a smart one in slashing time and then going on to not enjoy the soft going last time out. She’s a classy filly capable of big finishes and has only the 15 career starts to date. Lightly raced and will wnjoy the sun on the track this weekend, big chance and worth a punt at 5’s.

Be My Kitten is a Storm Cat filly from the glennc yards in very good form of late. Huge run to post a big speed last time out where she easily accounted for her rivals. Is flying and has been allowed to regain her footng in allowance company so will be a big watch here as no doubt glenn will be hoping she can measure up. Not so favoured with punters though being the long shot of the field at 9/1. Again another youngin on the up who looks to have a bright future. Big watch.

Forty KT Gold has drawn the 4th alley for this and goes into the race equal top pick at 2/1. She oozes class this girl being stakes placed multiple times and in career best form of late only once missing a top 3 spot in all of her last 7 outings ALL at stakes level. She’s a gem and no doubt a favourite of her trainer david77777. She looks more than up to the task here and should run her usual big race, huge chance.

Otto Dixie is a lightly raced Dixieland Band filly who has minimal stakes potential and steps out against some big guns here. Her recent runs have been awesome winning 3 of her last 4 and has well and truly earnt a crack at a stakes race. Last start she showed her true fighting spirit to gain a gutsy win and if her heart’s in it again she’s capable of pulling off a minor upset here.

Ronaldo Luiz is a very well bred Chester House mare out of an El Prado mare. She has an impressive strike rate and is ever consistent at this level, she ran into trouble last start but has been given a little time off since then and should come out all guns a blazing. Does like to lead and may just have found the extra distance last time a little too much where she ran out of gas. Perhaps would enjoy a ride off the pace? Top chance.

Summary: Reasonably open race. Like Ronaldo Luiz but doesn’t win often, Forty KT Gold may just be the one to beat.
