From Bargain To Legend

In an awesome display of speed, Pepe’s Pipes took control right out of the gate in this Saturday’s G1 Pennsylvania Handicap and motored to victory with apparent ease. The 4yo son of Singingintherain led by as much as 5-1/2 furlongs at one point, and never let anyone get within a length of him. This was the 10th win in 15 starts on turf for the Bargain Bowl champion, and pushed his career earnings over the $1 million mark. Jacques came charging late for second, and it was nearly another full length back to third-place finisher New Storm. Ransomaffirmedsir edged out Go For Bull in the photo for fourth.

The win caps off a stellar year for Pepe’s Pipes, who began the season with a victory in a 10K maiden claimer, then ran in a series of starters and an allowance before announcing his presence in the G3 King George Stakes in June. From maiden claimer, to a top-25 ranking in the turf classic division….THAT is a season to remember.
