Street Racing….Illegal?

Street Racing….

Fourteen fast and furious four legged pistons churned coming down the final stetch. As the seconds flew by, your stomach was caught in your throat and your screaming finally left you with no voice, but your cheering and screaming has paid off, has your bet too?

This weekend, though it may not be street racing, the JFK Street Stakes will be run.The winner will receive 125 grand on six furlongs of dirt. But will there be much of a field?

Pulling Strings, a four year old brown colt is going in as the favorite, with 32 starts and 15 wins. This colt comes from an impressive pedigree and trained by danknight. While the long shot in the field, Summer Sluice, holds no promise in winning this years street race of the year, he’s trained by airjordyn, and is at 22/1 odds. Sound promising?

Or how about the filly, Rebelling, trained by corka, and with odss of 17/1. The roan three year old will definitely have her fair share of hard trials during this race.

The only other competition Pulling Strings has is Atakachaw. A five year old chestnut horse with speed and who also likes to run in front. Expect a fast pace duel between these two. And while these two are dueling it out, do you suppose they will give the race away to an unsuspecting challenger? I wouldn’t hold out much hope since six of the horses in this field have either won an allownce race or haven’t placed within the last five of their previous performances; Gilded General, Pro Mac, New Point, Smokentate, Court Case, and Silent Key.

The other four horses; King of the Cats, Heat Seeking, Val’Demor and Dan on the Run have won a couple stakes races in their previous five performances but hold no hope in the handicappers eyes to win their first street race of their career.

So who will take street racing to the max this weekend? An unsuspecting challenger, or will the favorite, Pulling Strings, and the 5/1 colt, Atakachaw, duel it out…
