10 Furlongs To Test Thse Gals

10 Furlongs To Test These Gals

Six fillies and mares will step out onto the prestigious turf of one of Australia’s finest tracks, Victoria. All the big name jocks have mounts, the track looks a treat and the crowds are sure to flock to witness the Liason Regina Stakes worth $90,000.

Let’s have a look at the field…….

Polish Vendetta has the stinker on board and has drawn the inside barrier. This 3 year old filly looks a star in the making and has got off to a flyer in her so far brief career with her best effort being a 3rd in stakes company last time out and a flashing final time. She was unlucky not to have got up that day and she will benefit a lot from that and go into this with a huge chance. At 5/1 she is good value too, get on board!

Ultegra is a 3 year old filly from the maruxa barns and she too will have a great chance at this. She has had just the 13 career starts and she is stakes placed although on dirt. She’s been doing a good job of late plugging away and has ran a corker in her last two and was just unlucky not to have won. Looks well suited and set to put in a big run.

Squallfly’s Woody is a filly looking for a break. She again is only young and is an impressive rank 134 in this division. From gate 3 she’ll get a good crack at them although I think she is feeling the pinch of being up for a while and may just need to be sent to paddock for a rest in order to turn her recent below ability form around. Could still surprise on the day but others look preferred.

Band Out Of Boston has half a million in career earnings stashed away and this girl has a touch of class about her which will hold her in good stead for this. Good jockey on board and she thrives on the surface, tigereyes cuts this 4 year old some slack here and drops her back a few furlongs. Only 2 weeks since her last outing but does have the potential to turn it on if didn’t give her all last time. Good chance.

Flambeau flew last time to take out the Oak Lard Stakes by 2 lengths and on the back of that effort the bookies simply aren’t prepared to risk her. She has the best lead up run for this and should she decide to turn it on again and not run like the one before it she won’t be beaten. Obviously didn’t handle the graded going, however her ungraded form is as good as any of them here. The one to beat.

Spaceship Earth is the old hat of the field and should take every ounce of her racing experience to the track to try and outsmart some of the younger ones come the weekend. At 3/1 she looks about right and will have a good ride from gate 6. 12 wins to her name and a 3rd by just 3 lengths in grade two company over this distance just 4 starts back is great form for this and will ensure Spaceship Earth is gonna take some beating!

Summary: Flambeau is the one to beat in a small field with many chances, Polish Vendetta and Spaceship Earth will also take some beating.
