Welcome to todays feature, the Grade II Mrs Cleaver stakes for fillies and mares over the extended mile on the turf course. Despite most of the field being 10/1 or more on the morning line, most of the runners have a decent chance here-
LEPRECHAUN HUNT has been running mostly in stakes races, winning four recently but she has also won a Grade I over 10f. This is her shortest trip for a while and although she’s run well at 9f in stakes she’s hasn’t in graded races and this trip looks too short in this grade. Chance of a top five finish.
QUEEN OF THE TURF(IRE) Has been running over much further but did manage a decent second when last tried at this trip. That only produced a 94 SP though and it would be a surprise if that was good enough today.
GOODBYE KISS Is inexperienced at this level but has put in five sparkling runs recently, winning four stakes and coming second in a grade I. This looks to be her trip and I expect to see her stalking the leaders and pulling clear in the final furlong. The morning line second favourite and look for a monster run.
GLACKIANO Won a grade III latest over 7.5f but ever run over 8f has seen her caught and passed in the stretch. Expect to see her vie for the lead but there are some good closers here she will be caught before the line. Can hang on for a top three finish though.
MY ANGEL DEB Has been running in allowances and has been badly outclassed on both recent stakes runs. No chance here and even 10/1 seems far too short a price.
TRUE SLEW AGAIN Was running well earlier in the season at around 10f but her last three runs have been woefull. Looks in need of a rest and is set to struggle again today.
DREAMING OF LOVE Was putting up some nice sp’s earlier in the season but has mostly struggled in her recent races. Even her grade II win over 10f was only with a 94sp, not normally enough to finish in the top five. Will sit near the back early and will struggle to get much further.
BACK IN YOUR ARMS the morning line favourite on the back of four straight wins including a grade I and II. Another who sits just ofg the pace she will put up a big run and is nailed on for the top two. The final furlong battle with Goodbye Kiss looks likely to be something special but for me Back In Your Arms now looks ready for further and will just come up short today.
APPLE CARBON Has won a couple of allowances recntly but struggled badly in stakes. Will struggle again here.
SEXY FOX HOUND An improved run to wina stakes on her latest over todyas trip, but that was much better than her previous runs. If that was not a one off she will reach the top four but will struggle to go with the top two in the final furlong. Fourth palce today.
Well I expect a fantastic race today. with Glackiano and Queen of The Turf dueling up front. Most of the field will sit just off the pace and look for Quenn of the Turf to drop back in the final quarter. Back in Yor Arms and Goodbye Kiss will then duel for the lead with Glackiano just holding off Sexy Fox Hound for third. Goodbye Kiss will just pull clear at the finish to win by a head.
