Five 2-year-old Fillies Take the World Challenge
Not a lot of fillies have been entered into this stakes race but this is not to say it will be easy. No filly has odds longer than 7/1. Here is our race…
The VIRGINIA WORLD Challenge
Stakes
Five and one half furlongs
Fast Dirt
$60,000
Fillies and mares, 2 years old
TIGER STORY owned by princeton – 7/2, not a bad horse, it seems to be consistently running good S.P’s and with 7 races under its belt and 4 top 3 finishes I would say this filly is definitely up for the big race ahead of it. It will have a real crack and you never know, it might just cross the line first. The jockey that will be taking the reins of this young filly on the weekend is terrible and just might stop it from finishing top 2.
COUGAR CREEK owned by bardauber – 7/1, it’s amazing to see a two year old with such a consistent race record. This horse has ran 6 times and only finished out of the top 3 on one occasion. This horse takes the field with the longest odds and I’m pretty sure that these odds will prove correct on the weekend. I don’t believe it is ready yet for this race.
STORMING BIRD owned by graywolf20 – 3/1, second favourite coming into this race and looks an all right chance. Its interesting to see that this horse hasn’t yet had a run on turf so I think the owner must be confident that it can run an excellent S.P. It will be interesting to see what this horse does on the weekend because it seems to be a leader and with 4 other good horses in the race I’m not sure it will hold 1st position the whole way.
INCREDIBLE PEG owned by tg1 – even (1/1), my number one tip for Saturdays race. It has only had two races in its career so it is a little less experienced than the others. It has run an S.P of 88 and followed up with an 81 the week after. The 81 was a win, which suggests it didn’t need to push itself as hard as necessary. This horse will take a 5 length lead and hold it strongly throughout the race.
CLIFF DANCE owned by sopark100 – not too bad but not good enough to win this race. Its S.P’s just aren’t as high as what they need to be if it was going to be a threat to the other horses. It has ran in many stakes races, which gives you the impression it has the experience but it has won just one of these races which tells you it mightn’t be up to it.
My winner – Incredible peg.
My (boxed) trifecta – Incredible Peg, Tiger Story, Storming Bird, Cougar Creek.
