Hustlin Hoosier is the favorite to take a large share of the $500,000 purse up for grabs. This bargain is a stakes winner at this distance and has been competing well in listed stakes. He finds a good spot here to add to his already solid bank roll. Our Tonn II has taken a huge step forward as a five year old. Prior to this year his fastest speed figure had been a 77. This year however he has not posted a speed figure slower than 84 and has been above the 92 speed figure mark seven times.

Acoustic Christmas has broken the 100 speed figure mark four times in his career. He was a pretty solid three year old but appears to be on the down side of his form cycle. The distance might be an issue but this could also be the spot where he bounces back in a big way. Strike’em Slew won the very first race of the Bargain Bred Racing Series, the Bargain Derby. Strike’em is a grade III winner and although his recent races have been at shorter distances his performance at the Bargain Derby should not be overlooked.

Quanshan is a top long shot. He has been racing very well at longer distances and has nine career wins. At 14/1 he looks like a very solid play.

Race: 2671.0908 The Cougar Bite Classic – Stakes – $250,000
Track: New Jersey
Restrictions: All horses, 3 years old and up
Distance: A mile and one quarter on the Turf

This raced in named for Cougar Bite a dual grade I winner and bargain bred millionaire. Cougar Bite raced for Pedroza.

Pepe’s Pipes might just be the best bargain bred turf horse currently running in the sim. He finished fourth in the grade I Judgemont International. He is a grade III winner and won last time out in the B”Arc. He is the heavy favorite but it has been several weeks between starts.

Hapless had been a pretty good starter allowance runner on dirt recently. He was pretty solid on turf before that and the switch back could wake him up for a good performance. Clearance Clarence has been a pretty solid long distance turf runner this year. He was third two back in the B’Arc. Last time out he ran in a sprint probably in an effort to build up a little speed for Clarence. That could translate well for him here.

Race: 2671.0909 The Cemetery Winter Distaff – Stakes – $250,000
Track:
New Jersey
Restrictions: Fillies and mares, 3 years old and up
Distance: A mile and one eighth on the Dirt

This race by named by Winterhart. Winter put together the very nice banners for the race series. Thanks Winter.

Nitro Rush leads this very competitive field of eight ladies. She has been running very well in the allowance ranks and steps up here looking for her first stakes win. She closed very quickly last time out at a mile in allowance company scoring an almost two length victory. The extra distance should pose no problem for this lady.

Peanut Sal (IRE) is a very respected second choice and she has been running in longer races than this. She cuts back in distance here and could be one tough lady. She could very well break through and get her first stakes win here. Illusive Halo is one of mine. She has been solid all along and stepped up to get her first few allowance victories recently. She was sent to the front last time in hope of building up a little speed for her closing move in this race.

Buckler (IRE) looks like a runner who is right there with the top few. She has raced in longer distance races so stamina will not be an issue with her. In fact the cut back in distance might spark her. Canadien Jewel was bred using one of the suggestions given in the Breeding Corner. She ran in the Bargain Oaks but since then she has started to develop into a solid runner. She looks like the pace setter here and could be out there alone. She might get brave. Cat N Fiddle is pretty lightly raced but her race two back was an impressive one at ten furlongs.

Race: 2671.0910 The Vimes Turf Distaff – Stakes – $125,000
Track:
New Jersey
Restrictions: Fillies and mares, 3 years old and up
Distance: A mile and three sixteenths on the Turf

Vimes made a very nice donation to the series and that deserved a sponsorship. Thank you for the support Vimes.

This race has drawn a three year old filly on the rise and quite possibly the best three year old turf bargain filly going right now. Not a Moo Cow is fresh off her victory in the grade III Pan Handle Oaks. She has won four of her last five and is the heavy favorite. She will need to bring that “A” game though because she will have a few hard knocking older mares hunting her down.

Over Highland is a four year old filly that has hit the board twenty four of twenty nine lifetime starts. She has been running at a little longer distances recently. Her race four back at a mile and an eighth would put her right in the thick of things here against the classy three year old. It’s hard to imagine her not competing well here. Sir Degore has mostly had success on the dirt but she has some turf experience. She has a win on turf and is pretty competitive all around.

Moltov Cocktail has been on the board eight of thirteen life time. She has been pretty solid at a little shorter distance. I think you can throw out her try at ten furlongs because it was against the boys.

Race: 2671.0911 The Kaif Mile – Stakes – $125,000
Track:
New Jersey
Restrictions: All horses, 3 years old and up
Distance: One mile on the Turf

Kaif was kind enough to make a generous donation and thus I had to name a race for him. Thanks for the support Kaif.

Hold My Life (IRE) is still looking for his first stakes win but he has been oh so close. Last time out in a sprint he just missed running a very nice speed figure. Three of his five wins have been at this distance and is a big reason he is the favorite. Call To Arms AZ is an eleven time winner and has earned over $200,000 in purses. Call to Arms AZ is a runner that has topped the 110 speed figure mark three times in his career. Can he catch some of his old form here?

Cash Threshold has been a very solid claimer. He has a touch of seconditis with ten second place finishes in twenty-two starts. He may be better suited for this one mile distance. Wizengamot is the surprise horse. With several dirt starts recently his turf runs are buried in the form. When you check them it out it is obvious this guy can hang with all the runners in this race on the turf. In fact he looks better on the turf so the dirt to turf switch could prove to be a key move.

Sdmf who has some of the sims top runners has a good bargain bred as well. This field better keep an eye on the lightly raced Far Beyond The Sun. He has two wins and a place in three starts with solid speed figures.

Race: 2671.0912 The Tale Of Two Places Sprint- Stakes – $125,000
Track:
New Jersey
Restrictions: All horses, 3 years old and up
Distance: Six furlongs on the Dirt

http://blacktypebugler.com/?artid=1121

This race was named for the bargain bred runner Tale of Two Places. Tale of Two Places ran for Nextbonus and was a grade II and grade III winner. He also placed in a grade I on his way to earning over one million in purses.

Eleven competitive bargain sprinters have entered the Tale of Two Places. We have co favorites in this race with Babyblew and Standing Around. Babyblew is a front running, lightly raced four year old. He has been running some very solid speed figures at the allowance level. Standing Around has won an incredible eight of thirteen races lifetime. The filly has opted to face the boys which was probably a smart move. Here she will add to the pace with Babyblew so this could be a fast one.

Judgment Day is another bargain runner that is sure to add to the pace in this race. He has been right there in allowance races and should be hanging around in this race. Ahk Shalom is a stalker. He has not been as fast as the top three here but he is not that far behind. I the top three burn each other out he could be around to pick up the pieces. At 38/1 Cheap to Handle may be the long shot of the day. He has just two races and both were claimers but he is pretty fast. Add to that he comes from behind and he could be set up for an upset.

Race: 2671.0913 The Delta Tiger Sprint – Stakes – $125,000
Track:
New Jersey
Restrictions: Fillies and mares, 3 years old and up
Distance: Six furlongs on the Dirt

http://blacktypebugler.com/?artid=1123

Deltatiger was another player who generously donated to the Bargain Bred Racing Series. Thanks Delta.

Delta has the favorite here with Chance for Delta. Chance was the winner of the Bargain Oaks at a mile and has since been running pretty well in allowance sprints. She has very nice speed figures and over $180,000 in earnings including two stakes races as a two year old.

Zens Free to Dance is a solid second choice. She has been running some very good sprint allowances. She comes from way back and that might compromise her chances here. Sinning Jones is one of my runners. She has run some solid races in sprints and miles. If the favorites back up a bit she might have a chance.

Sea Orchid is another of my runners. She was claimed a couple of races back when she took off running a 98 speed figure. Since she has not been real competitive on off surfaces so maybe the switch back to a fast track. Roy Race has really started to mature in her last three races. She has broke her maiden and ran a really nice allowance last time out. She will be on the pace and could be around in the end.

Race: 2671.0914 The Silent Witness Sprint – Stakes – $125,000
Track:
New Jersey
Restrictions: All horses, 3 years old and up
Distance: Five and one half furlongs on the Turf

http://blacktypebugler.com/?artid=1135

I needed a name for this race so what better than a great real life bargain bred runner.

Catnap VSF is the favorite here in the turf sprint. He is a stakes placed runner that earlier this year ran a 108 speed figure. He has been a solid allowance horse his entire career. He has speed so he will be near the front in this race. French Kiss II (GB) is a hard knocking older mare that is stakes placed. She is a deep closer and may have found a spot were she can run well.

Starinsky is one of my runners. This three year old filly is a five time stakes winner and has second place finishes is a grade I and a grade II. She comes off a grade III try where the top older female turf sprinter showed up and beat everyone. She should be stalking the early pace and could be a danger to the favorites. Knobkerrie is another hard knocking turf sprinter. He showed he still has some left in the tank with a very nice win last time out.

Race: 2671.0915 The Charlie’s Tiger Juvenile- Stakes – $125,000
Track:
New Jersey
Restrictions: All horses, 2 years old
Distance: One mile on the Dirt

http://blacktypebugler.com/?artid=1106

This race was named for bargain runner Charlie’s Tiger. She was a grade I winner on an Equinics day. She earned over half a million in purses running for Nickesyd.

It is a filly who is favored in this full field of two year olds. Kidd Speak just broke her maiden at a mile with an 81 speed figure. She stalked the early pace and was able to run them down in the stretch. Prior to that she was hitting the board. She looks set for a strong performance here. Nuclear Free is another filly that has looked pretty solid. She has a couple of wins and prepped for this race in the Bargain Bred Allowance with a second place finish. This will be her first route try.

Gold Storm Dancer is also making his first start in a route. He comes off a very solid maiden win at seven furlongs. Wave Goodbye is an allowance winning filly also stretching out for the first time. Her running style gives you the impression she will relish the extra distance. Perchance was the winner of the Bargain Dirt allowance four weeks back. He is a front runner and could improve with the stretch out.

Race: 2671.0916 The Class Ack Juvenile – Stakes – $125,000
Track:
New Jersey
Restrictions: All horses, 2 years old
Distance: One mile on the Turf

http://blacktypebugler.com/?artid=1108

Class Ack was a dual grade I winner. He won an Equinics race as well as another grade I as a three year old and has earned over $800,000 in purses for Wahoo.

Maiden The Love Boat is the favorite. He ran second in the Bargain Turf Allowance flashing a solid amount of speed. It is that speed that will place him in the mix of things here along with his solid speed figures. The extra distance is the main question for him to answer.

Strategic Defense was bred from a breeding corner article. He is still a maiden and his first couple of starts on dirt have hinted he might have some talent. Those starts were on dirt but his sire can produce turf runners. Mr. Gas Leak is also a maiden. He had a solid third place run in his last start on the turf.

The rest of the field is full of runners that could just jump up and take this race. This is a race that is very evenly matched top to bottom.
