We have six three year olds going for their first graded stakes win in Saturdays grade 3 The Goodyear Stakes.our favorite is in the one slot ,the rioja trained colt won the Shadow Creek Turf Route stakes going away.while turning a lifetime best of 101.this fine looking colt goes by the name of MACHO PERDIZ he is sired by RODERIC O’CONNOR out of the mare MUXIA. who has been a nice broodmare throwing four stakes winners so far, this could be the one to put her at the next level as a broodmare by winning the grade 3 The Goodyear Stakes.
our second choice is in the three slot and goes by the name of FLIBBERTYGIBBET .the waradmiral trained colt is on a three race win streak among those wins was the Crosstown Traffic Turf Route.putting up a blistering 104 speed rating. the son of SEA THE STARS and the stakes wining mare THE FLEET’S IN .has been a force to reckon with since switching to turf.I like his chances here.
the third choice is going to be breaking out of the six slot.this fine looking colt out of MINESHAFT and the grade 2 winning mare LENSHAFT .the chops27 trained colt goes by the name of GEAUX GEAUX GEAUX. and from the looks of him he was named right because he can really go go go. i look for him to try and come from off the pace here and go around the leaders.
our fourth choice is the lasuisse trained colt REY DE REYES who has only two starts to his credit.winning both and improving each time.the son of MONSUN by KINGMAMBO and MONTJEU,looks to step way up in class here one thing for sure is that he has the pedigree that is for sure.if he can clear the field he may take home the top prize.
the fifth choice is the liamswan11 trained THE THREE THUMBS,is making his second try at graded racing .after a rough trip last time out, this smaller field may give him a chance to get out front, which may be all he needs to win ths race.he has shown he has the talent to run with the big boys, question is .is he ready.the son of CAPE CROSS and the mare MARISA JADE.has shown he’s ready in the morning work outs.
our sixth choice is the trapper37 trained colt LIBERTANGO.who is sired by MONTJEU out of the mare SOUTHLAND. since his first start where he was just getting a feel for racing. he has finished first or second every start.I look for this good looking colt to may be fool the odds makers.and pull off the big upset for the weekend.
good luck to all the trainers.
