The Mother Lois Grade III
Welcome to
1.
2. Japanese bred Pepin’s Gal, a 5/1 shot, will look to earn his owner cbrady some money in today’s race. W. Moss will get the ride today on this girl. This girl has decided to skip the listed stakes ranks and head right into the graded ranks. A lightly raced mare, she has only three races in her career and has won just one race. She has not once been out of the Maiden ranks, but has raced three times in her career. Her fist run she finished 5th with a 64 speed figure. Two months later she ran 3rd while running a 65 speed figure. Her last race that speed figure jumped and she ran a career best 76 speed figure that gave her a win and let owner cbrady know that she wants a chance at the big boys. This too will be her first race against the colts.
3. The 6/1 shot in today’s race will be the young Rock Storie. Owner bdhp hopes that jockey P. Rodman will ride this horse to the winners circle. This is the first colt in today’s race, and this boy has just two previous races under his belt. In her first race, this boy sat back just off the lead to begin with before making a terrific stretch run and finishing first in a 12 horse maiden race with a 69 speed figure. His second race was against 11 other colts all with their first win as he chose to go to the NW2L allowance ranks. He sat near the middle of the pack in 5th to begin and tried a late charge but failed. He finished the race third and ran a 77 speed figure. This will be his first stakes attempt let along graded attempt.
4. One of the two 12/1 shots in today’s race is a nice Australian bred that looks to make it two for two in his career.. Owner lygerbomb will send out Gallivantium, to run in today’s race. The jockey will be R. Wilkensboro. As I previously stated there isn’t much to know about this young colt as he has just one race under his saddle. That race was a first place finish in a maiden race where he ran a 64 speed figure while leading the field of eight coast to coast. This horse has been off for about a month and a half now and hopes that the extra rest will provide an extra boost.
5. R. Truitt will ride this 7/1 shot into what he hopes is not only her first stakes win, but graded win as well. Owner frewville has nothing to complain about in Atlantic Knight’s last race, which bode him his first career win. He took on a field of eight in a maiden special weight race where he sat back towards the back in 6th early in the race. As the race progressed it looked as though this boy wasn’t going to make it and was third heading into the final part of the race. He prevailed though and hung on to win running a speed figure of 64.
6. The co-favorite in today’s race, also sitting at 5/2, is an English bred horse belonging to owner timmnstc. J. Stivers will get the ride today. This boy has proven enough in his only career race to let the odds makers know that he is a legit contender. The Before Picture beat a maiden special weight field of eight by ½ a length in his first race while running a 65 speed figure. He started off the race in 5th before coming storming back to win the race with the same jockey on board. He will be looking for his first career stakes win as well as his first career allowance win.
7. Winding down here we have Warsted who is a 12/1 shot. Omroiwalmo looks for his horse to hopefully pick up a win as she will get jockey S. Dunlap for the ride. This young colt has three races already under his belt, two of which have been on the grass. In his first race he tried the dirt, but to no liking ran a 52 speed figure and finished 9th in a field of 14. After taking a month off he came back to improve that speed figure 16 points while he finished second in a maiden field of nine. His last race showed that was not a fluke at all as he ran a career best 71 speed figure and finished first in a maiden field of eight. Every race he has had his odds have been over 10/1.
8. In gate number eight today we have the 5/1 shot Snow Storming. Ccbruno hopes that jockey H. McLean can lead this guy to his first career win against something other than maiden competition. He has three races under his belt, and has ran pretty consistent speed figures in each of those three races. In his first race he ran second in a maiden field of 14 while running a speed figure of 66. His second race he made the jump to listed stakes ranks and was beaten as he finished 6th out of eight horses and running a 66. A month later he beat a full field of 14 horses while running a 68 speed figure in a maiden allowance race. This will be his 4th race in as many months.
