10 – SAYCHEESEPLEASE(NY) – odds maker shows no respect for the 2yo D’Funnybone colt after a second place finish in open company in a high-priced MSW in WV

9 – BLUEGRASS MUSIC(NY) – pedigree dwarfs the rest of this field, short price on newcomer NY bred sire Bluegrass Cat; at first asking

7 – FRACASTORO(NY) – filly was at home when competing against local rivals last time out this distance this track; first out of the gate, must not falter

RACE 2

3 – DIXIE CALDER(KY) – exits a trio of stakes races finishing 4th, 3rd, and 1st respectively while making triple digits a performance habit, take the short odds

2 – INDIAN CHOICE(AUS) – on the board in last twelve starts including 4 wins, three this distance

4 – SMARTY N ME(KY) – throw out last over the turf, impressed favorably previous pair this distance, one a career best 100 speed figure

RACE 3

10 – LUCYCUV(TUR) – could make a case for a filly that drops into a maiden claimer for the first time of a pair of races you could excuse, turf in last, sloppy track in debut

6 – KENCHILD(WA) – switches back to dirt after finishing in the money on turf last out, drops into claim for first time and is eligible to improve off that effort

9 – ONE OF A KINDMID’S(MD) – improved when dropped to this level last time out, wouldn’t have to improve much to beat these

RACE 4

1 – ADMIRAL JAX(ENG) – impressive 3yo turns back into a sprint, draws the rail, and plays catch me if you can with short field

3 – TRIBAL DESTINY(JPN) – boasts a stakes victory two back, bounced in last but is the fields high earner and career wins leader

2 – STOP THE VIOLENCE(KY) – on the board in all six starts, but wins come in maiden claimer and starter allowance efforts, short price for modest résumé

RACE 5

5 – CHOKLAT THUNDA(KY) – price is right on well-bred colt making his claiming debut after racing well over his head in his last four starts after breaking his maiden against special weights

9 – JACKSON’S TERROR(ENG) – won lone start at a route over a fast track for MSW win and drops in for a claim for the first time after running in a turf sprint last time out

10 – KASH REFUND(KY) – turned in some good efforts against better rivals, takes the turf to dirt angle here while dropping into a claimer for the first time

RACE 6

3 – EDAMAME(KY) – Awesome Again 3yo was a run away winner over the Florida oval in his racing debut and just might be this good

4 – CHASING MARIAH(KY) – finished up fast last out over this oval and turns back into a sprint, one to beat

5 – CHANGE THE SUBJECT(KY) – wired the field this distance in maiden win three back and could enjoy the same success if he decides to employ the same tactics with this field

RACE 7

2 – DIXIE SONG(KY) – ran a pair of seconds in Graded events in her recent starts and has enough speed in front of her to run these down in the stretch; may want a shorter distance but class edge and pace factor could offset that disadvantage

7 – RYUJIN(KY) – finished 4th and 3rd in last two against Grade 2 rivals, is the fastest of the fast in here, turns back into a sprint, and has won four of last eight since switching back to the dirt but has faltered in last four

5 – ROBBING THE ROBBER(KY) – broke a long winless drought last time out in open company allowance and has eight of her ten career victories at this distance

RACE 8

4 – EASTERN REVOLUTION(GER) – perfect fit under these conditions of non-winners of two in the last three months winning last in open allowance while winning five times over the past year while posting triple digits in last three; much the best here

2 – DAISEY MAE(KY) – capable of turning in a big effort but wins have been hard to come by over the past two years visiting the winner’s circle only once over that time frame; usually around for a share

5 – PALFREY(KY) – more at home with platers, but can’t dismiss last in allowance this track this distance and no world beaters in here

RACE 9

3 – BLACK LETTER(JPN) – figures to sit the best trip here if Gibson is patient, sitting right behind Gamble to Hire and fast enough to out kick the late closing Midnight Sale, loses all chance if he engages Gamble to Hire in the early going

1 – GAMBLE TO HIRE(JPN) – knows one race and one race only, catch me if you can, and has been victimized by that tactic in recent starts; likes the distance, draws the rail, and is dangerous if left to task

5 – MIDNIGHT SALE(JPN) – has been coming up short in recent starts and can’t afford to get too far behind top two if he is to have any chance in here

RACE 10

6 – ROCK HARD KIRBYS(KY) – looks like the chalk keeps rolling in NY this week as morning line favorite makes a return to the claiming ranks at a distance well within his best performance ability

8 – POWER BLUSH(KY) – has been on the board in all eight if his starts for his new connections and is right at home this level, last was good this distance and is the best of the rest in here

3 – OBAMA TO GET OSAMA(KY) – third choice in the betting odds has lost his last six starts by a combined 85 lengths and is mentioned here only to impress upon you the separation of the top two choices compared to the rest of this field

RACE 11

8 – FALL RIVER(NY) – earned enough in last to buy a new GPS and after 15 straight starts the Sunriver NY Bred finally finds his way home; finished second twice in the same company, maybe this time he wins one for the home crowd

9 – SOVEREIGN RULER – may have needed last, previous was good this level, chance in wide open affair

5 – JAZIL MOBILE(KY) – turned in a triple digit win last time out at a shorter distance, but these type seldom turn in two good ones in a row, happy with part

RACE 12

1 – RISINA(KY) – looks to be headed in a whole different direction than her rivals, on the board in all six career starts and turns back to a sprint after an impressive allowance score at nine panels; trip digits last three, much the best

9 – RIVER REINDEER(KY) – must be shy around a camera because she hasn’t found the winners circle in over a year but is usually around for a share; raced against better in last and is better prepared this time around this level

11 – HALO OVER MY HEAD(AUS) – racing consistently over last six starts but doesn’t bring that wow factor to the racetrack, gets a piece again

RACE 13

5 – EPIC ADORATION – makes third start after an almost two year hiatus, won in return and just missed this track this level last out while posting a 100 speed figure, right back

7 – GREENGREENGREEN(JPN) – finally catches a breather after trying to hold off better in last three, should find it easier to control the pace against this kind

3 – REBELDE(KY) – have to forgive last two when ambitiously placed, pulled up in last at 13 furlongs making this start a risky proposition, your call

RACE 14

1 – SJ’S CARSONADO(CA) – exploded when asked to go ten furlongs in the G-2 Hannah Barbera Cap two back winning going away and turned in a solid effort last out in the G-1 Ugly Breeders Bowl last out, racing in top form and the one to beat

2 – SIN N’ GRIN(JPN) – makes a well deserved return to the graded ranks off a pair of eye catching stake wins, never better

5 – THE BAR IS CLOSED(JPN) – woke up in last when photo’d in the G-3 Blue Wind this distance; repeat of that performance could put her in the camera eye this time

RACE 15

4 – SLICE OF LEMON(KY) – half to a pair of stakes winners, the Lemon Drop Kid 2yo ran a huge number last time out putting up a 76 speed figure after setting all the fractions at every pole; has to deal with the outside this time but has enough speed to clear this field and should dig in against this field

5 – PROVE YOUR POINT(KY) – Uncle Mo colt turned in a useful effort last time out at 4.5 furlongs and will improve with the added distance

3 – DUMONT NJ BG(JPN) – always puts in a late run and has been getting closer and closer with each start; benefits from a fast pace

RACE 16

1 – ABRUPTITUDE(NY) – made short work of local bred field last time out in local bred debut, seems fitting that a day that the chalk looks good will finish up that way

4 – BAD DATE(NY) – should keep pace with he top choice to the quarter pole; connections are famous for pulling off upsets, but an upset here will surely mean a trip to the stewards office
