FROM THE HORSES MOUTH – 5079
From the Horses Mouth RACE 1 1 – TINHORN CREEK(NY) – well overmatched last time out in first start since January; Posse bred 4yo filly local bred meets her softest rivals yet, edge 3 – ISLAND OASIS(NY) – 0 -14 colt comes into this race off a pair of second place finishes but is no bargain at 9/5. RACE 2 2 – OUTBACK MARS(KY) – impressed in his debut, well-bred colt still has his work cut out for him against a very credible odds-on favorite but might be worth a wager at generous odds 6 – KING OF ALL KINGS(KY) – well placed by top connections here, short odds give me no choice but to try and beat him here, strictly the one to beat 1 – HUSSON DEM(AUS) – looks like a different horse last two, posted a new top last time out with a 94 speed figure, happy with part RACE 3 7 – TI LUNG(KY) – disappointed both career starts considering the long line of stakes winning siblings her Dam has produced; switches to turf, a trait that has held up very well in her family tree 5 – CLEVER MAGICIAN(KY) – switches to turf after a pair of in the money finishes on dirt this racetrack; should benefit from the surface switch since bred from mare that did her best racing over the turf 4 – DUTCHESS OF BALD(KY) – Curlin filly from a modest bred mare that was a stakes winner on the turf and winner three times at two; half to stakes winning BALD METAPHOR, winner at two and twice placed in turf stakes races as a two year old, interesting play at long odds RACE 4 2 – KOPERTOX(IRE) – not a lot of confidence in a 7/5 favorite coming off a year long layoff; hasn’t run well when freshened in past, but still might be best in here 3 – LONDONDERRY ST(KY) – should be competitive with this field despite the steady diet of claiming races 5 – HELLS TRAIN(KY) – mare is 15-25 in the money on the turf, I just don’t think she wants anything to do with this distance RACE 5 6 – MOE CURLY(KY) – throw out last when he wanted nothing to do with the turf, just missed previous this distance following a 4th place finish in the Oyster Pub rocks stakes 7 – A WINK AND A NOD(KY) – is racing in good form and comes off a maiden with this distance this track while posting an impressive 95 speed figure 4 – HEISSTILLBLESSINME(KY) – has enough speed to control the pace and could lead every step of the way if things go his way RACE 6 5 – GAFFNEY’S(KY) makes up ground in every start and catches a field that likes to argue their case on the front end, last was good in allowance debut 1 – HAULING CASH(KY) – in the money in all four career starts, has the speed and the rail and looked good last time out in allowance appearance missing by a half length while recording a 95 speed figure 6 – VINNIE BARBARINO(KY) – no surprise the sitcom namesake likes to show up late in a race…don’t think he can get up in time? Up your nose with a rubber hose RACE 7 5 – CROSS TIGER(KY) – Storm Cat mare has won almost half of her 34 career lifetime starts and is making her second start off a layoff after spending the better part of last season racing against better 6 – INCREDIBLE RIPPA(KY) – won this condition this distance last time out and as conditions would have it gets to come right back under the same condition, why not again 2 – SPITZ IN THE WATER(KY) – last visit to the winners circle came this track, these conditions, this distance RACE 8 4 – STROBES(KY) – the 1/5 morning line is no surprise here; came up a length short in the G-3 The Day of Memorial Handicap last out and meets no such kind here in what shapes up to be an Equinics prep for the possible Minny downs representative 2 – RUN SALLY RUN(IRE) – claimed for 100k two back and makes second start for her new connections after finishing second last out, best of rest 7 – CINEREAL(JPN) – ITM in 24 of 34 career starts should have some say in the battle for second RACE 9 4 – MISSING AGAIN(KY) – employs a big closing kick and gets an advantage against his pace setting rivals; looks primed for a stakes appearance but opts for open allowance 5 – SHOW OF STRENGTH(KY) – has useful speed and will adjust to the pace as the jock sees fit; consistent triple digit speed figures and a 76% ITM record make him a safe bet in exotics 3 – ICHAM(KY) – usually has a say at some point in a race, and while maybe a notch below the top two he is eligible to improve off last start RACE 10 6 – ELF TALES(KY) – have to give this Tale of the Cat colt out of the multi stakes winning he-mare another chance with his switch to the turf 9 – SUMMER STROLL(KY) – was passing tired horses in last but was at least going in the right direction and might be worth a look first time on turf at 14-1 4 – ONE MUST BELIEVE(KY) – flashed good speed in last and shortens up to 6.5 furlongs; could get loose and never look back RACE 11 3 – TAMARIZ(IRE) – top pick only because this is where the dart landed 6 – THINKING STRAIGHT(WV) – second pick only because my handicapping is worse than my dart throwing 14 – DATE WITH THE DR.(LA) – most likely to appreciate the added distance RACE 12 7 – STRANDED ON THIRD(PA) – two divisions on this bargain bred fiasco and this is the only horse of 29 starters to ever finish in the money 2 – PLUS A NOTE(FL) – finished 4th in debut, that’s almost in the money 1 – WHAT A JOKE(FL) – kind of sums up the 29 entries in this series RACE 13 3 – FEISTY DRAGON(FR) – annihilated this field in the two mile version of this race in the Wombat, throw out last over a yielding surface and that dirt effort three back, 23-1 is very tempting here 4 – RIVER RAKE(TX) – runner up in the Wombat, gone on against tougher rivals and moves with these 6 – LOT AT STEAK(AUS) – has a big shot here after spending most of her time in better company RACE 14 5 – QUEEN OF MY LIFE(GB) – gets the chance to turn the tables on DIZZYING INTELLECT(CA) in the MD Distaff last out in a race that shapes up very much the same way 7 – DIZZYING INTELLECT(CA) – got out before top choice and outraced her to the wire, similar trip here and could have same result 11 – SKIDMORE INDY(KY) – should get the job done with patient handling, but if presses too early could have trouble holding off the late charge of top two RACE 15 6 – DEJA KIP(KY) – beat all the main contenders in the Bargain Oaks two back and went on to finish second in another owner restricted race last time out 5 – RUIN MY IMAGE(KY) – probably doesn’t want to race this long, but did beat these in the Ozark Diamond and could improve this distance with careful handling 1 – GLORIOUS DETAIL(SWE) – speed and the rail, finished second to top pick in the Oaks but should get pressed once again by ROI LIMIT(ITY) setting up a similar finish this week RACE 16 9 – SKANKY BB(FR) – breaking all the rules and taking the maiden here, 87 speed figure this distance, at least I know she won’t have to hail a cab half way through 3 – FIVE DEMON(CA) – been bossing these around, I don’t see that changing here 10 – VISION OF CHARLIE(LA) – another that has ownership over this bargain craze, one to beat
