This weeks race at Queensland where 11 2yo will be battling it out for glory. Some for their first time in a stakes race, some for their second and third. All the horses in this race are of similar quality so we aren’t looking for something that’s gonna run a personal best of 82, we are looking at something that will take the world by storm and whip up an amazing sp of 95.
The horses we are looking at as finishing top three would have to be the ever impressive JAPANS LAST HOPE owned by lodog20 This horse will be sure to impress and is my number one tip for victory but will be hotly contested by YERODIN HOLLANDIA (owned by pellegrino) and PUNTER DOUG (owned by punterdoug)… hmmmmm… very arrogant.
This is my top three but don’t be surprised if you see GREEN FIELD’S IVOR or HAVASU CITY pull into the top three because like I said, it’s a very evenly matched field and just about any horse is able to surprise in this race, it just depends on which one is willing to have a dip (NATATAKAROAR and BRIGADE CHARGER are excused because everyone knows the owners put them in just to have a bit of a joke).
DANLOVESJENNY and BAILEY WILSON are most likely to finish midfield, however, I’m not ruling them out because they have potential to do something big, its only that just by looking at them in there stables you can tell that they have no heart.
SANDY HAWLEY has been fairly impressive leading up to this race with a best S.P of 78 and an awesome race record of 3 wins and a second from just 4 races. The scariest thing for seveii is that he hasn’t pushed him to the extreme and this race is fairly competitive so he might struggle but it is good to finally see it in a big challenge.
PHONEY is quite the opposite to the above horse, this one doesn’t have as good of a race record but Whoami has pushed it almost past the best of its ability which is great to see and might give this horse an upper hand in the race. If there is an upset, I’m tipping PHONEY.
