1 | DAYLIGHT DREAMER( | 8/1 | Scratch bred “Causeway” trained by one of the premier trainers in the sim, this mare has been killing them in the weekly stakes events. From 9 to 10f, she usually takes to the front immediately and has energy to spare. This is only her 2nd graded event and she should be able to get to the front easily and conserve herself by saving ground from the one hole. She may get some pressure from the six and fourteen post, but I see her clearing them after a half and it will be her race to win or lose.
2 | INCREDIBLE RIP | 31/1 |
Scratch bred 3yo by Gone West, she will have her work cut out with this crew. Coming off two stake’s wins in longer and short fields. She may get caught in traffic as she tends to lay back and may never recover. Her SP’s are average, and she will have to improve greatly to get up for a piece.
3 | 29/1 |
Scratch bred 3yo by Crafty Prospector who ran her best last out in the G1 in the Three Smokestacks, where she was beat by the number four horse. She has been in a number of graded races in which she hasn’t fared well. Now, with the improvement in her last, she may be coming into a maturity stage where she will be more competitive. Still, she is facing some stiff competition here.
4 | DEPUTY PAUNCHI | 6/1 |
Scratch bred Deputy Minister mare that is firing well at present. Primarily a stalker, she won her last in the G1 “Smokestacks”. She has never gone 10f, but is a killer at 9.5f ! If she can keep up her stamina for the extra .5f, she is a big threat here before the closers get a chance to finish out.
5 | SOPHISTICATEDWAGER | 10/1 |
4yo filly out of an “E” rated mare that loved the dirt. She has placed twice in G3’s and is hot at present. She should be mid-pack here with a decent closing move. She will have a problem with the jock, whom is bad at best. She has heart and a very good trainer, but will have to rely on those strengths solely.
6 | BACK FLIPS( | 15/1 |
4yo filly out of an “E” rated horse who loved turf. She likes the front, can get the distance, but may have an issue with class in this. She certainly will have to contend with the number one post for the lead and may not be able to keep up. Jockey Mafit will have to be at his best to get a piece here.
7 | ATHENA JUPITER | 15/1 |
Out of a “B” rated mare who made a large living on turf, this 4yo filly by FuPeg, will need to bring her A-game today. She is still eligible for many conditions. Has had one good run in a G3 at 9.5f.
8 | GOD’S FURY | 11/1 |
3yo filly out of an “A” rated horse, this gal has been doing well with her age group in regular stakes. Her graded runs have seen her placing in a few, and she will be facing tougher here. Top jock Linville will have to wish for God’s Fury here.
9 | WAKI NOTION | 7/2 |
Scratch bred Miswaki filly is the favorite here based on her SP’s. Only time going 10f was in the Equinics last year as a 3yo, in which she ran third. She has a couple of graded wins at 8.5 and 9f which appear at the present to be her best distances. The jury is still out as to whether she will excel at this distance as she has at shorter. Dr. Fager mix usually has some distance limits….this Saturday will tell all. She’s a one run animal that we’ll be looking for late.
10 | OUR REASONS AGAIN | 11/1 |
4yo scratch bred “Our Emblem” that worked back into cycle by winning an allowance last out. Primarily a sprinter in her youth, this gal has grown to like a distance whether on turf or dirt. She has won easily at the distance and placed in a graded at same. Her style is to stalk and that fits well here. If she can keep her form and improve just a little, she will be there at the wire.
11 | BUBBLEGUM | 7/1 |
3yo out of a “B” rated horse, and sired by El Prado. She is a graded winner at 8.5f which seems to be her best distance. She will be meeting older for the first time and has not been tested at the distance. She also has a so-so jock, so the jury is still out on her.
12 | VIRILIO(GB) | 11/1 |
5yo scratch bred mare out of Dubai Millenium when he was still available. She is running in her 45th race and her 1st graded event! She has won at a variety of races as far as distance goes, and has three regular stakes wins to her credit. Age, W&T, and class may be a bit too much here. However, she gives her all and the “heart” factor is hard to judge.
13 | FIND THE TIME( | 25/1 |
Scratch bred Galileo mare has 1.3 mil in the bank in her long career. Her best season was as a 3yo, and as she matured made a lot of dough running longer then this event. She has struggled in her last two races and would have to put forth a supreme effort to be competitive here. What a great broodmare she will make.
14 | MINISTER TO DEB | 9/1 |
4yo scratch bred out of Deputy Minister. She has had some awesome SP’s at a mile, her best distance. She will more than likely try to get the front here and go as far as her wind can take her. Being stuck on the outside, she will have to contend with coming across a wall of horses to do so. Looking at this realistically, a tough task. |
