#1 – FEELIN HOT HOT HOT (5/1)

FEELIN HOT HOT HOT is jumping straight to stakes after a strong maiden victory in it’s debut race, where it pulled ahead to win by a three length margin. Although the maiden to stakes jump can be a difficult path to take, however FEELIN HOT HOT HOT did post a speed of 94 which was just below the field high speed of 96.

FEELIN HOT HOT HOT is sired by CONQUEST FARENHEIT (2021 Sire Rank 1631) who is a relative bargain sire out of SCAT DADDY with one stakes winner overall.

FEELIN HOT HOT HOT started just off the pace in its debut before taking the lead coming into the stretch. Expect to see this colt out front early, and if it can maintain or improve on the speed posted in its debut race FEELIN HOT HOT HOT could be a legitimate threat.

#2 – ON THE WEST COAST (6/1)

ON THE WEST COAST is coming in off wins in the last two starts, its maiden victory and a conditional allowance where its speed matched the high for the field at 96. ON THE WEST COAST finished second in the first three starts, then jumped out front after stretching to a mile and switching to the turf track.

ON THE WEST COAST is sired by TWIRLING CANDY (2021 Sire Rank 110) who is an improving sire out of CANDY RIDE who has sired 21 stakes winners, including four from this years 3yo crop.

ON THE WEST COAST has had success sitting a few lengths off the leaders making its move coming into the stretch. ON THE WEST COAST will be among favourites to challenge for victory, especially if this colt ages well making its 3 year old debut.

#3 – OUT FOR A RUN (3/1)

OUT FOR A RUN is undefeated since jumping to the turf track two starts ago, including posting its first stakes victory last time out. Along with the being undefeated on the turf, OUT FOR A RUN’s speed also bumped to 95 which keeps this colt on pace with the top speeds in the field.

OUT FOR A RUN is sired by RUNHAPPY (2021 Sire Rank 250) who was sired by SUPER SAVER. RUNHAPPY has sired 21 stakes winners, but has cooled off after producing six stakes winners in each of its first three years as a stud (2017-2019).

OUT FOR A RUN likes to drop back early and close from the back of the pack. This includes coming from over six lengths back in its stakes win last time out.

#4 – ISLE OF RUM B (15/1)

ISLE OF RUM B stumbled in its stakes debut finishing at the back of the field, however ISLE OF RUM B has shown a trend in bouncing back after setbacks. The jump to stakes class may be tough for ISLE OF RUM B as its peak speed of 86 is well off the top speeds in this field (96), a big 3yo bump will be needed in order to bring itself to the top.

ISLE OF RUM B is sired by GOLDEN HORN (2021 Sire Rank 1285) who was sired by CAPE CROSS. GOLDEN HORN (GB) has a peak sire ranking of 49th in 2020, however most of these did best when stretched over a mile which could suggest the 3yo crop will be improving rank as distances increase over the year. GOLDEN HORN (GB) has sired 61 stakes winners, but none since the 2020 crop.

ISLE OF RUM B has sat off the pace in all but a HOT race where it sat a neck off the lead before pulling ahead for an easy win. This race won’t be that easy, the expectation would be that ISLE OF RUM B will sit back and make its move down the stretch.

#5 – PERPLEXING IMAGE (7/2)

PERPLEXING IMAGE has slowly stretched out to a mile after debuting at six furlongs. PERPLEXING IMAGE’s speed has peaked in the last two starts at 7.5F and 8F, jumping to a high of 94 in two victories.

PERPLEXING IMAGE is sired by SIYOUNI (2021 Sire Rank 186) who was sired by PIVOTAL. SIYOUNI has sired 96 stakes winners, with 19 to 21 each for the 2018 to 2020 classes.

PERPLEXING IMAGE has either set the pace or sat just off the pace in all starts thus far, including wiring the field last time out. PERPLEXING IMAGE will be looking to push the pace and has shown the speed to be among the favourites.

#6 – OASIS CAUSEWAY (7/1)

OASIS CAUSEWAY has thrived since being stretched to a mile after a debut in a five furlong sprint. OASIS CAUSEWAY finished the 2021 season with huge 11 SP jump to 94 in a race where there might have been even more in the tank as OASIS CAUSEWAY ran away with a two length lead.

OASIS CAUSEWAY is sired by OASIS DREAM (2021 Sire Rank 103) who was sired by GREEN DESERT. OASIS DREAM (GB) has sired 307 stakes winners (15.4%) and is the 35th ranked sire all-time. Although others have posted higher speeds, OASIS CAUSEWAY will be coming in with the deepest pedigree in the bunch.

OASIS CAUSEWAY has been a deep closer in the past and should be expected to make a charge down the stretch. At 7/1 odds, if OASIS CAUSEWAY’s pedigree gives it an extra boost into the 3yo season there should be big value in picking OASIS CAUSEWAY.

#7 – MASCOT EXHIBITION (6/1)

MASCOT EXHIBITION struggled in its first attempts at stakes races, and is making a second run after a SP boost in its fourth victory in a conditional allowance race.

MASCOT EXHIBITION is sired by JERANIMO (2021 Sire Rank 1881) who was sired by CONGAREE. JERANIMO has only sired one stakes winner in the past, and is rumored to have been selected at random to be MASCOT EXHIBITION’s sire.

MASCOT EXHIBITION has had a mixed running style over time, having broke to the lead in four of nine career starts with two being wire to wire victories. In other runs MASCOT EXHIBITION has sat as far as 2.75 lengths back, including the last start where MASCOT EXHIBITION came back to win by a head.

#8 – VINNY ROCKS (9/2)

VINNY ROCKS came close to wiring the field in its stakes debut, where it finished second having been overtaken down the stretch. Only once has VINNY ROCKS finished outside the top two spots, and since stretching to a mile VINNY ROCKS has thrice posted speeds in the 90’s.

VINNY ROCKS is sired by VINCENNES (2021 Sire Rank 710) who was sired by Deep Impact. VINCENNES (JPN) has yet to sire any stakes winners, as a 2yo VINNY ROCKS has already managed to top the list of foals for VINCENNES (JPN) and will be a real threat to bring home the first stakes win for this sire.

VINNY ROCKS is another member of this field who has a preference to jump to the lead early, having taken the lead out of the gates in four of seven starts and being within a quarter length two of the three other races. If the 3yo bump is good to VINNY ROCKS, expect this gelding to make a challenge early and contend down the stretch.
