Skippy’s Weekend Hot Tip Sheet

Skippy’s  Weekend Hot Tip Sheet

Disclaimer:  The Skippy’s Weekend Tip Sheet is a just a quick look of horses running in the “Upcoming Big Races” for the weekend as listed on the front page of the sim, Derbyville/Derbyfever.  This is a watch list tip sheet of horses that deserve a good look in each race.  I will include at least one Long Shot for each race that may deserve a look and that maybe a horse to consider in the Tip A Horse contest in the Forums.  The Skippy’s Weekend Hot Tip Sheet is independent of any races that my BTB colleagues may have previewed and of which they most likely did a lot more research in their articles than I have taken time to do.  I hope you enjoy this format and enjoy the comments made on my selections.

Middle Jewel Stakes (9,7,8,1)

9-General Crook: Winner of the Bluegrass Derby and has never missed the boards in eight starts.

7-Personable: Ran fourth in the Bluegrass. If he is ready he may roll across the wire.

8-Ready  For A Strike: Looks rested and ready to compete if he can handle the distance.

Long Shot

1-Oldmoon’s Mine: Comes in well rested and was second in the Arkansas Juvenile.  Going off at a good price at 14/1 in the morning line and gets a good gate draw.

Japan Oaks (2,9,4,11)

2-White Gold Tower: Can go the distance and could be gold in this race.

9-Jade Free: Was third in the Sydney Oaks and is looking for her first Graded win.

4-Moon Jumper: Can she go the distance?  Let’s see what she can do.

Long Shot

11-Calculated Payment: She continues to improve.  At 18/1 let’s see how much.

Ugly Breeders Bowl Distaff (13,12,5,11)

13-The Passageway: She is looking hungry for a G1 win. Can she get there first?

12-Almighty Forensics: Has not been off the boards since June 2019. Will she pick up her first G1 win?

5-Earth Is Flat: Can put up some good speeds when she wants to. Will she want to today?

Long Shot

11-Mangled: Has been improving and is going off at 13/1. I will put this one on some exotic tickets.

The Irish 2000 Guineas (10,14,6,8)

10-Ghostzooper: Has won three in a row.  Can he make it four?

14-Sakura Bath LV: Looks to get back on track as he steps up in Class. This gate should not hurt him.

6-Kodiac Bear: Three in a row and he likes hitting the boards first. Can he do it again?

Long Shot

8-Rush To The Start: Has been running well at the distance and could be a surprise in this field.  At 11/1 he deserves to be on some of my tickets.

Weedy Establishment Stakes (10,14,1,6)

10-Debunked TB: Has proven he can run in various track conditions. Has four wins in a row and has her eye on making it five.

14-Terriofic Swan: I wish she had a better gate draw. She may show up to fight this one out.

1-Midnite Guard: Looks ready for a Graded run, but is the jump in Class a little much?

Long Shot

6-Classical Fiction: Four trips to the winners circle in last four outings. Takes a big jump in Class for this race, is she ready?  At 15/1 I am going to put her on a couple of tickets at the window.

Golden Goose Sprint (6,5,1,7)

6-Arnold Palmer: Won the Sydney Sprint last out and is seeking his fifth win in a row.

5-Town Of Montes: Won the Sand Castle Turf Sprint his last trip out.  Is looking to make four in a row.

1-Chester Lampwick: I see no kinks in his armor and he is quickly climbing the ladder of success.

Long Shot

7-Forli’s Act:  Was the front runner in the Sydney Sprint and was caught in the stretch for home.  At 10/1 I will place him on a ticket or two.

I have always enjoyed SIM tip sheets. There were several in the old days when we could bet. Most were restricted to specific tracks. Thanks for restoring the tradition.
