The Deus Ex Machina(IRE) Stakes
Race 10 is the feature on the Mississippi card this week and promises to be a beauty. The weather promises to be fine and the crowds are expected to flood to the track to watch these 3 year old fillies belt it out in search of glory.
$55,000 is the prize over 11 furlongs on the grass and we have a competitive lineup including the likes of Bonesaur, Princeton Bound and Smell The Fraction (IRE).
Exbourne’s Hill has been handed gate 1 and from the inside alley looks a super chance. Prepared by Futurefarm and going off at 7/1, this one looks a good each way bet. There are some smart fillies in this however and the filly did struggle last time out with the extra distance so she is out to prove the critics wrong here. Will find it tough but has a touch of class and has the capacity to pull out a big run.
Bonesaur has Orazio aboard and looks a top chance to bring home the coins here. Rated a 3/1 chance in the latest markets, Bonesaur is proven at both stakes and graded level. She will take a world of beating. Expect a big run from her! She’s in great form at present and drops back in class for this. She’ll be well suited and in it for a long way.
Smell The Glove hails from the Bobwinans barn and is in great form of late. She loves the surface and her will to win is huge. She has been in alw class of late but proved more than up to the task running some nice times. Smell The Glove will likely take up the front running early and push hard the whole way. She’s fit and been running extra well and will look the winner at some stage im tipping. Whether she can hold them off right to the wire remains to be seen.
Testing Fractions (IRE) goes out a 2/1 shot for this and draws some attention for the punters. 6 wins from just 17 career starts this girl is very consistent and has also produced 6 minor placings. A sensational effort last time out to pinch 3rd spot at grade 1 level and a 2nd in fast time before that, Testing Fractions is the class filly of the field and I mark her my top pick. Form looks excellent, good jockey on board and bulletday9 will have her tuned perfectly for this. Big show expected.
Princeton Bound has got herself the 5th alley for this and will give it a huge crack. Coming off a win last start and 3 in her last 4, Princeton Bound has a fantastic strike rate and thrives on this surface. The extra distance has been found to do her nicely and she’ll have one serious dip at them come raceday. She’s a 3 year old on the up and after cruising in by 3 lengths last time no doubt would have pleased her trainer Princeton.
Expect a big race and she’s great value for punters at 5/1. Get on board!
Toms Giggly Geisha (IRE) is the long shot of the field at 10/1 in the latest markets. I’d have her a little further out than that. Only $25,000 from 17 starts this filly has raced on dirt all of her last 5 starts and hasn’t been in the same quality company of a couple of the fillies here. She’ll struggle to feature in this and looks better suited back in allowance company.
Carsfly Seattle is a nicely bred Carson City filly from a Seattle Slew mare. She has equine royalty on both sides of her lines and her racing career so far has got off to a great start. No doubt astfly has been pleased with what this girl has shown of late with 3 wins and a second from her last 4 outings. All have been in allowance company and her last couple she toyed with her opposition doing it easily. Another value runner at 5/1, expect her to make a bold showing. She won’t be far away and is every chance of taking the bulk of the purse come the weekend!
I rate Testing Fractions (IRE) top pick from Bonesaur and Carsfly Seattle. Toms Giggly Geisha (IRE) looks tested.
