FROM THE HORSES MOUTH – 4911

Wishing all of you a very Healthy and Happy New Year.
RACE 1
1 – DADDY G HOST(NY) – coasted past local bred in lone state bred affair, solid in allowance in last, edge
5 – SHMALON(NY) – three wins and a second in four lifetime local bred starts, one to beat
3 – HARD REALITIES(NY) – different horse at a mile, one to catch
RACE 2
5 – RETURN MEAN(KY) – stretches out first time, chance at big price
2 – CANDY LICKER(KY) – 80+ speeds last two make her the one to beat
4 – SAMB ADAGIO(KY) – from a mare that won 15 times on the turf, but best still gets it done here
RACE 3
11 – HATCHAT JACK(KY) – ambitiously placed in last, finishes fast
7 – TOOK CREDIT(KY) – from multi graded stakes winning BRICKYARD THUNDER so you can understand the high expectations, but she did that sprinting
2 – SONG OF WARR(KY) – back to reality, solid efforts prior to last
RACE 4
3 – FLAWLESSLY(KY) – choice between a 2-5 and a 9-5, go to the bar and buy yourself a shot
2 – PAGE FROM HISTORY(KY) – hard to recommend a horse that lost last two by combined 32 lengths even if in graded company
RACE 5
8 – RUSSIAN MACHINE(KY) – faces some early challenges, but should prevail in the end
1 – WOETTE’S SUGAR(KY) – reaps the benefits of an early speed duel, live at 10-1
3 – ADMIRE PULPIT(JPN) – another that will be running late, use in your exactas
RACE 6
5 – MELLO KINGS(KY) – competitive against better, drops into winning level
3 – KAYADEROSSERAS(KY) – unbeaten on fast surface, extremely well-bred
1 – IDEAL KIRBY(KY) – smart claim, already earned back the claim price and you won’t find another horse in this field with a faster speed figure
RACE 7
3 – SPOKESMAN(KY) – returns to level where he turned in a 101 speed in a turf mile 5 back
2 – WHITEOUT RISK(JPN) – class edge here but no excuse in last, beware
6 – BLUSHING INDY(KY) – tries turf for first time and for no other reason
RACE 8
5 – KINMEDARU(KY) – five for five ITM sprinting, hard to look past
2 – KING OF ALL KINGS(KY) – survived the claim box and ran a career best, looks like kingab had a change of opinion
3 – IF MY WIFE KNEW(KY) – winless in a sprint, but last was good enough to draw interest here
RACE 9
1 – VHEISSU(KY) – dead aim this distance winning 6 of last 7 at seven forlongs
3 – REGGIE’S REPRISE(KY) – class edge here, one to beat
4 – CLOCK HITS TEN(AUS) – should have been called Clock hits BOARD as in last 13 starts
Race 10
2 – PREFONTAIN(KY) – gets the Oscar Barrera move here entered right back , tries two turns for first time, hasn’t raced long enough to show he’s as bad as these
3 – PLUM PLANET(ENG) – start number 26 without a win
RACE 11
5 – MAMBO NEWS(KY) – looks much the best here, best bet
6 – FLOWERS ON TUESDAY(KY) – huge run last start, race number 50 and could bounce off that effort
3 – PINK TIGHTS(KY) – racing in open allowance company, must not falter
RACE 12
9 – FAUX SHORE(KY) – tries turf first time and wouldn’t have to be much here, eligible to improve
6 – TATE RISING(KY) – is out of a Grade 1 winning mare that never won a penny on the turf, will need sires influence to get this done
11 – MEMPHIS BEAT(KY) – another with enough to get it done on turf for first time
RACE 13
3 – ASHKE’S HONOR(GB) – hasn’t won a race in over 2 years, and still my top choice
7 – DESERT BULLET(KY) – just no way I can bet a 1-5 going 11 furlongs with that pedigree, let him win
1 – BOOOMMM G(ENG) – third choice by default in a race where the average number of starts per horse is 46
RACE 14
2 – GLORIOUS ROAD(KY) – back with restricted winners, overlay here
5 – DISTORTED IMPACT(JPN) – three wins in four starts this distance, consistent
3 – TWIN DECKS(IRE) – turf to dirt angle worked once before
RACE 15
2 – ALEX ENGLISH(KY) – looks like the Grade I winner he once was, shakes loose here
1 – SUPREMITY(KY) – keeping good company, close enough if top one falters
3 – AWESOME LIGHTS(KY) – gets minor share
RACE 16
5 – BLACK LETTER(JPN) – winning easily since undertaking the long route circuit, looks like he can run all day
7 – EL PRESIDENTE(ENG) – tried, tested, and proven this distance, one to beat
6 – SHAMARDANE(IRE) – will mix it up early but must not falter
