Today’s card for the Big Hill group II, is a lottery, most of the horses on display today have the potential to win, a few have shown their cards already.

Like the current 1st ranked SIM 2yold sprinter Northern Blast(9/2). Promising colt  GFW Pegasus(7/1) and Wonderboy Epstein(9/1) will be the main dangers.

The others all in it with a decent change. My selections are 6/5,4

(7/1) DUBAI NIGHTS (2yold Colt) E Dubai x Storm Cat x Rahy

What an Impressive colt, has only had two starts so far both over 7 furlongs, Last start ran an impressive speed of 90, probably needs to show a little more, but if he can keep up this form will be hard to beat. ‘A Natural born leader, with plenty of stamina will be hard to beat if he gets out in front’

(38/1) BOLD MILLIONS (2yold Colt) Millions x Bold Anthony x T.V. Commercial

A former claimer, his previous owner didn’t see the potential, impressively claimed by mickracing stable.  Will need to improve to be in the mix come the finishing post. Has shown some ability but might be out of its league with the quality of the field. “Has Been over the journey with a honest 70’s time, but if he’s to be a threat will need to improve, a roughie of the field, but not the worst”

(9/1) BRAODWAY STORM (2yold Colt) Storm Cat x Event of the Year x Mill Reef

Has had only one start so far, an impressive 83 over 6.5furlongs, well bred and well trained. “An unknown quantity, but all signs a positive, will need to improve to challenge”

(7/1) GFW Pegasus (2yold Colt) Fusatchi Pegusus x Mountain Cat x Lure

Has had 6 starts with a impressive strike rate (6-2-2-1). This horse’s previous performance are impressive, his lead up into this race looks like he will be a genuine challenger. His last three starts were 83, 90, 83. “Look for a bold effort, might be the one to beat !! He drops back in distance and looks more suited over 7 furlongs, his best times have come over 6.5furlongs watch out!!”

(9/1) Wonderboy Epstein (2yold Colt) Fusatchi Pegusus x Neu Quest(ENG) x Ile De Bourbon

This super impressive colt is at odds of (9/1), I’m not sure why he is at big odds. He has an impressive record with 4-2-1. Last start stakes winner over 8 furlongs with a ultra-competitive time of 90. Can lead if require and come from behind. What is there not to like about this young colt? The only question is he drops back in distance, but to starts back he ran 91 “Will be competitive in this race, the drop in distance should not worry, has a strong finish, and he will motor home over the final furlong. The major danger, and will be in the money!!”

(9/2) Northern Blast (2yold Colt) Storm Cat x Seattle Slew x Buckpasser

This supreme colt is rated by SIM as the best 2yold Colt Sprinter. He reputation is slowly growing, and has attracted a cult following. Northern Blast has won at Group level and also a 2nd in a group 1 over 7 furlongs. “A little disappointing last start, but drops back in distance to where he looks more comfortable. Punters rest assured you will not be left wondering if only..will sit of the past and has a remarkable turn of foot come the final furlong.”

(11/1) El Corzador (2yold Colt) Green Desert x El Corredor x Northern Dancer

One of the roughies, will need a lot of luck to win, at best place change.  His best performances have come over 6.5furlongs, with a speed of 82. Has not won since his maiden win, once again he will be competing against some proven champions. “El Corzador has a promising future, but I don’t think today is his day”

(20/1) Indy Forty T (2yold Colt) Tiffany Ice x A.P. Indy x Forty Niner

A giant mountain of a challenge awaits this horse, a huge step up in class. He comes into this race with solid form, with only 3 starts for 2 wins and the last being a stakes win over 7.5furlongs with speed 84.

(6/1) Husker Du (2yold Colt) Empire Maker x Deputy Minister x Native Charger

Husker Du last two starts where over longer ground than 7furlongs. A honest effort with 86 and 88 over  8.5 and 8 furlongs respectively. Today he drops back in distance, He is an unknown quantity, looks like one of the changes. “I would not discard this horses, Take on Trust, Mike Husker prepares his horses and this 2yold colt is no exception!

(9/1) Forest Royal (2yold Colt) Forest Wildcat x Gone West x Royal Ski

Has show glimpsers of brilliants. Last start stakes winner, a natural sprinter, ran a 86 over 5.5furlongs.  Will need to do something like, and more, if he is to be in the mix. Coming in to this race with 3 wins from 4 starts, he steps up in class and will need to find some hidden talents that his potential has shown.

“Might be too early in his career to crack the big ones..look forward to seeking this one blossom in up and coming group racers.”

(12/1) Nebakanezer (2yold Colt) MT. Livermore x Vice Regent x Private Account

Comes into this race with a perfect record 3wins from 3starts. A striking improver, with every run he has improved, his last start was over 6.5furlongs and clocked a speed of 84. He will need to improve considerably if he is to challenge…“will find the going tough, by no means the worst in the field, but a mountain awaits for this young gun!”

(10/1) ToxicSuperFreak (2yold Colt) Orientate x Thunder Gulch x Sword Dance(IRE)

Has been competitve in all his starts to date, will find the going tough. Has shown some decent form two starts back over 7furlongs, ran a 86. He falls in the same boat as about half a dozen of this field, heaps of promise and potential. I think we will have to wait an see, if you are after some value with the bookies…then get on!!!

“Not completely out classed and out gunned in this one, he will need to pull off something special if he is to make his mark today”

(11/1) Doyoulikeindy (2yold Colt) Indy king x Mozart(IRE) x Doyou(IRE)

A real wild card entry into this race for Doyoulikeindy, will find the going tough for this race, hasn’t shown enough. Potential is a scary word for 2yold trainers..and this one has plenty of this!!!! “Does not loom as a threat, but with his potential ..who knows??”
