Close finish in the Grade II Sundown Mile

Rode Me Hard got way back in the field even as far as 10 lengths before storming home to take the Grade II Sundown Mile. This was his 15th victory and it took his earnings to $2.1 Million. The 111 speed figure was his highest for sometime as he only just grabbed victory. The son of Rahy has been performing consistently of late and this Grade II victory was the return to winning form that he needed going forward. Back to his favourite distance, Rode Me Hard should be further successful at the mile trip in the future.

Mushrooms settled in front of Rode Me Hard and was responsible for doing the work and bringing him into the race. Mushrooms sprinted home but was unable to hold out Rode Me Hard. This Grade II placing comes as a surprise considering his Allowance form in recent starts. The 110 speed figure was a significant improvement so maybe he can compete at this level in the future.

Dynambo settled behind the leader and took the lead in the stretch before being run down. He was one of the form horse coming into this race and with another good performance, it highlights the ability of Rode Me Hard and Mushrooms.
