MiniSkirts Not Banned Here
This is the G2 Lydia Test from Italy folks which if you have been following the news of late is the subject of a town in Italy where the wearing of low cut dresses and mini skirts has been banned for the female population. No idea if it applies to the male gender but I’m not going in that direction. No such bans here though – you can wear what you like as long as you are neat and casual and have money to burn at either the bar, food stall or on the horses. We have 8 runners too for this G2 of which there looks like 3 genuine contenders with of course the remaining 5 hopefuls wanting to take their opportunity and get a win under their belts at this level. Enjoy the race people.
1 STORMY TREBRE(KY)

Odds: 9/1
Ran her 5th race on dirt last time out for a 2nd place finish across the line in a Stakes race over 10 furlongs. Which has absolutely nothing to do with today’s race as this is a G2 on the turf. Is in good form though and looks equally good on dirt as she does on turf, in fact probably more comfortable on this track. Does close well and consistent. Ran 2nd in a G1 only 4 runs ago so has talent. Chance if she winds up early enough.
2 KEPLER FROMER(KY)
Record: 18-5-8-2

Odds: 7/1
Ignore her last race – it was an off track in particular a yielding turf track and as was shown by her last run she is quite hopeless on it. On a firm turf track though she is much much better although is in the middle of a bad patch of form. Her last win was in June which was a G3 and a sensational speed of 113 over 10 furlongs that day. Since then though it has been pretty much downhill mostly on speed but lacking in wins too. Until she is through the bad patch she will continue to struggle. Hard to see winning here.
3 SISSON’S KINGDOM(KY)
Record: 18-7-2-3

She looks good – she really does. Out of Kingmambo is a good runner of late with her last win at a G3 level in May and a speed of 110. She followed that up at the end of the month with a 4th place finish also at G3 level after hitting the lead. She was then spelled for 5 months before running again in October over 10.5 furlongs in the G3 The Coney Island. Again she was close to the lead before fading out in the run to the line. I think the distance will be too far for her here – back to the mile and she might finish stronger. Her odds suggest she is better than she is.
4 STREETS OF LOVE(KY)
Record: 20-8-4-2

Odds: 9/2
She looks in excellent touch right now and this is pretty much her distance, her track – she looks like the winner straight up. She is stepping up here though from Stakes but is coming off 2 wins in a row with the trainer definitely giving her a chance to prove herself at Grade level. Speeds all over 100 over this distance – I think she will only take this race, roll it up, squash it and throw it over her backside as she crosses the line in first place. Hard to see her not winning.
5 QUEEN OF THE BUDAS(KY)
Record: 15-4-3-3
Owner: vicki
Jockey: N Labreche
Odds: 10/1
Only 3 of her races in her last 8 have been on a firm turf track. The rest have all been on an off track leaving us with not a lot of recent runs to see how she will do. Of those three runs 1 was an allowance which resulted in a win, the 2nd was a Stakes which she finished out in 2nd place after leading for the whole race and the third was a G1 back in May where she finished a fading 3rd after leading early. And that my friends is the story of the girl, will lead early, will look good and will then falter and then collapse in a miserable writhing heap as she heads to the line. Well not quite collapse but hard to see her finishing strongly. Place at best.
6 FATALLY FLAWED(JPN)
Record: 23-9-7-3
Owner: tenpin2
Jockey: S Fraser
Odds: 7/2
Forget her last race. As per her name it was fatally flawed as an off track which she cannot handle at all. Prior to that she finished 2nd in a G2 and a win before that even at Stakes level. She looks to be right on her limit on the distance but does have very good speed and is a genuine contender here for the win. Will get a place for sure – might just hold on for the win or get pipped right on the line. Close race maybe.
7 MONTANA WELLS(IRE)
Record: 23-9-2-3
Owner: zooomr
Jockey: G Moss
Odds: 9/2
Well bred this one out of sires that I will never be able to afford. Sadler’s Wells x Forty Niner x Northern Dancer. And she can run pretty impressively as well although looks like this distance is as far as she can run. If she has one of her good days like she did back in May when she powered to a win over 11 furlongs in a G2, she will have an excellent chance of winning. One of the contenders looks more likely guaranteed a place rather than a win. Might be able to jag it maybe.
8 BLOOD RED LEPACA(IRE)
Record: 13-5-3-1
Owner: sabbath2
Jockey: A Moffett
Odds: 8/1
This one is really coming from nowhere after spending much of her racing this year in Allowance company and getting some good results too with a win here and a good run for 4th or 5th there. Her last 3 races though she has really taken it up with a 2nd place followed by a win at Allowance level. Then her last run she really lit up with a win at Stakes level over 10 furlongs with a speed of 110. Runs aroudn the midfield to rear position closes very well and even though her odds are out a bit I think she looks like the runner which can really surprise this field. If she runs like her last race has a good chance of winning this.
