The Floor It Stakes – G3
Welcome to France! We have a special week here before BB week, we have two Graded races over 16 furlongs on the turf, one for mares and one that is open. I have been given the opportunity to do a preview of both races. For this race that is for the mares and we have 13 horses racing for the points and the $150,000 in cash. This race is called The Floor It Stakes, so lets hope all horses actually floor it an give all!
1. GREEN FORK (5/1)(ENCOSTA DE LAGO x GREEN DESERT x CARSON CITY): This 4 mare out of Encost de Lago have been really good since starting racing, shown steady improvement all the time. She have made 13 wins in her 24 starts and that is really good, winning more the half and also have made half a million dollars. Last 4 races she have become a more solid horse and doing really well at 14 furlongs and up. I do believe this is the winner of the race, at least in my eyes, she have the perfect position and she likes to drive to the lead.
2. LONE RAN (14/1)(ASOLO x SADLER’S WELLS x TOP VILLE): This 5yo mare out of very unknown sire Asolo from Germany have made 6 wins, 6 places and 5 shows in the 27 starts so far. She have shown she likes turf and route races pretty early, but the problem here is that she doesn’t seem to have winner speed for stakes or graded, she is an allowance runner. I do believe she will have a chance at top-3, but she would find it really hard going for the win.
3. GIVE ME A CHILL (14/1)(SADLER’S WELLS x MR. PROSPECTOR x BUCKPASSER): This 4yo mare out of my favourite sire Sadler’s Wells have almost made 1 million, she have 10 wins in 29 starts, but this seems to be the first start after a injury or a long rest, so it could be a bit tough to actually do some major damage. I believe she have a chance at a top-3 position, but should be really happy with a top-5.
4. BOMONSSAD (10/1)(MONSUN x SADLER’S WELLS x IRISH RIVER): This 4yo have a really good pedigree for racing longer races. She have 7 wins in her 18 starts and I do believe she wil be one of the best mares at the distance in the next year. She just need to become more solid and mature a bit. I do think she have a really good chance at a top-3 position, but in the next 2 years I think she will always be in the top-3 positions!
5. ALPHAJEST (14/1)(SELKIRK x ELA-MANA-MOU x SADLER’S WELLS): Another horse that has really good pedigree for long races. This 5yo out of Selkirk have made 33 starts so far and maybe the career is coming to and end? Out of these she have managed 11 wins. I do believe that she have a chance at top-3, but would really need to improve a lot, but coming into this one with 3 wins in a row on T16.
6. LEFT ALL ALONE (7/1)(TIGER HILL x LEAR FAN x SADLER’S WELLS): Really like the combination in the pedigree here, a lot of good influence! So far this mare have made 9 wins in the 31 starts. It seems though like this year have been a break for this Tiger Hill sired mare and the last races she have reallly become more solid. I believe this solidness will make her a top-3 horse in this race and she is my third horse over the line.
7. K’S ESPIONAGE (11/1)(SMART STRIKE x SADLER’S WELLS x MR. PROSPECTOR): This is a inbreed horse and it seems like the two extra legs are working perfect for racing, we could discuss if its legal for a horse to enter with those 6 legs or not. She have made an impressive start in her career, made 9 wins in 15 starts! I do believe she could become very dominant in the next years. This is my outsider of the race, since she really seems to have nice speed in her.
8. STEALTH APPROACH (27/1)(NEW APPROACH x KRIS S. x NEVER SAY DIE): This 3yo mare out of New Approach is the lightest raced horse with only 8 starts, but she have managed 4 wins in those. I do think its a bit early for her in these kinds of races, it would have been better if the race was for 3yo only, but she will be facing a lot of older horses here. I do believe she have a chance at top-5, but she really needs to adapt to the distance and racing older horses.
9. THE LONG SUMMER (7/1)(KINGMAMBO x SADLER’S WELLS x SECRETARIAT): This 4yo out of Kingmambo have the nicest pedigree according to me in this race. She have been really good as well making 10 wins in 2 starts. Coming into this one with a win in an allowance last time. She have also shown she is doing really nice speed and I do believe this is the race she will take another step forward. She is my runner up of this race.
10. VIN DENIAL (7/1)(VINDICATION x SADLER’S WELLS x KRIS S.): This 5yo mare have just passed the 1 million dollar earned line and 17 wins in her 32 starts is really good. One time she have actually made a 110 at the same conditions as this race, so she have some really good speed in her, but after a injury she haven’t really raced that well on graded level, could this be the race she makes a stunning return to the star room? Yes it could, I do believe she have a really good chance at both winning the race and if not winning she will be in top-5.
11. DANCINGINTHEDARK (6/1)(DANEHILL DANCER x DUBAI MILLENNIUM x LYPHARD): This 4yo mare haven’t raced that many times at the turf track, she started at turf, but was switched to dirt pretty fast, there she did decent and a few races back she was back on turf and did some really good speed. I do believe the trainer knows what he is doing since he is very skilled. This one could have a chance at top-3 and even winning, but she would need to create something extra!
12. PATH TO RICHES (8/1)(MINESHAFT x SIR IVOR x RIVERMAN): This is one of the few 6yo horses in this race and so far she managed 36 starts in the career, winning 13 of them and add another 12 shows, makes her stats really good. She have been really solid over the last two years, but I do believe she will have a hard time in this race. Compared to the other horses she aint good enough to challenge them.
13. RAMIRA (14/1)(VICTORY GALLOP x BELIEVE IT x LEAR FAN): Another one of the older horses in this race. She have made an amazing 49 starts so far, winning 9, 11 places and 10 shows. She is still going pretty strong, but I don’t think she is stakes and graded class. She actually did break the 100 limit two races ago, she could have a long career, but I doubt she will have a chance at winning this one, there is to good competition. She have a nice chance at top-5.
There are some horses here with really cool pedigree and overall this is one of the races with the best pedigree I have seen in a long time!
I do think that the winner will have around 105 and the top-3 positions is really close to that as well. This will be a very funny race to see, according to me most of the strongest horses in this race will be going for the lead, so the horse that could go for the lead and save energy will be a contender to win and there are a few strong horses coming for a bit further down the field at the end as well. Good luck!
This will be the top 3 from my view and I also have my outsider for the race:
1. GREEN FORK
2. THE LONG SUMMER
3. LEFT ALL ALONE
Outsider. K’S ESPIONAGE
