A bit of a strange one here for a Grade II 2Yr old race with four well fancied runners and most of the rest around 10/1-14/1. This suggests one or two pulling clear with most of the remainder involved in a blanket finish for the minor money. On second thoughts that’s pretty much what you would expect for a “Yr old race !

K’S RUMOR HAS IT is the favourite based on his monster run latest, when winning an allowance in an sp rating of 90. He will improve again for the extra half furlong and being by Sadlers Wells from a Seattle Slew mare will be a classic challenger next year. He is going to take some beating today.

MONEYGROWSONTREES also out up a great run latest when winning a stakes over 7.5f with an sp of 88. However being from a Mr Prospector mare, i’m not sure he’ll relish the extra furlong- yet. He should still run his race though and expect a top three finish.

COMANCHE NATION won his maiden over 8f but his latest fast finishing second over todays trip suggests already that he wants further. Again though he has some speed from his dam who was by Gone West so he could still run well. Nailed on for a top five finish.

HANZO STEEL has been running over 6.5f and being by Mineshaft from a Machiavellian mare this looks too far to me. He may well lead for 7f but i would expect him to be passed in the final furlong by the stonger horses. Should be close but not close enough.

BANANA EMPIRE has won a stakes over 7.5f but struggled badly over 8f in a grade II latest. This extra half furlong looks wrong – he may well want much more than a mile later but it looks to far now and he looks like a sprinter. He comes from off the pace but won’t be able to do that today. Out of the money.

PRIVILEGED has run a couple of nice races over 5.5f recently but he only just got there on both occassions and whilst he looks ready for more distance i can’t see an extra 3f being the answer. If this was run over 6.5f-7f i would give him a great chance but not today.

WOODYNA ran a nice race in his first stakes with a close second over 8f latest. That was on good ground and the fast going and extra half furlong look ideal. Expect a big run and a top three finish at a decent price.

FORTY LAUGHS  ran really well latest to take an allowance over 8f with an 88 sp figure and will also be a threat today. May wel need that first run at this level but will still challenge for the top three.

The remainder look overmatched but only just and i would expect them all to finish quite close without threatening the top three or four. They look like good stakes runners in the making but perhaps not graded level.

PREDICTION

1/ K’S RUMOR HAS IT  2/ WOODYN 3/ MONEYGROWSONTREES
