Lady’s Honor(IRE) leads turf starlet sprint
Victoria– Stakes-placed Lady’s Honor(IRE) hopes to capitalize on her experience in this week’s featured $90,000 Dr.’s Sound Memorial. The stakes event highlights the freshmen fillies over 6.5 furlongs on the grass.
Celticcros’s Lady’s Honor(IRE) boasts two stakes placings from 6 starts. The Refuse To Bend(IRE)-sired filly brevely finished third LTO in her 8f debut, recording a 80 SP# (her best to date!). Such a forward-momentum effort would suggest her returning to two-turns soon. She presents average SP#s in grass sprints, but look for her to close well down the lane.
Kiddman’s Steamin’ Dealer is the one to watch at 2/1. The Unbridled’s Song gal presides with a 2-for-2 lifetime record, including a sprightly stakes score LTO over 6f. Granted, that effort came versus three other runners — but it’s hard to argue against an entrant who’s done everything asked of her. Just how good is she? We’ll see this Saturday — look for ‘Dealer behind the pace.
At 3/2, Gold Looking from pg23 stable is another one to keep an eye on. The Seeking the Gold fily dispatched a 6.5f MSW LTO with meritable ease. The 76 SP# sure was a great start for the talented youngster. Excellent race spotting for her stakes bow.
The speedster should be U Crack Me Up(IRE), by Desert King(IRE). The 6/1 shot has been earning her feed in short field ALW events. 60 SP#s aren’t much to boast about though — she’ll need to show us her best stuff in order to wire this field. Outside chance for bombsaway stable, but this is a soft field.
Snickers69 sends out the race’s longshot, Bullville Sue(FR) at 17/1. The bargain baby won a short field ALW over an off course LTO. Hasn’t done much SP-wise elsewhere. Guaranteed a cheque, so good race spotting. 🙂
Picks:
Win: Gold Looking (her MSW was impressive)
Place: Steamin’ Dealer (should be in the final hunt)
Show: Lady’s Honor (closes for the show — test mile again next time)
Good luck to all.
